Hopefully the sounds I've used are decent enough. I spent waaayy too long tuning the sounds to play on the same frames that the unicorn visually puts a hoof down onto the ground, plus making sure the 'random' sounds have some sort of order to them rather than just being truly random.
Let me know what you think!
I'll likely make it an optional config so it can be enabled if desired, so as not to force it on everyone suddenly.
In short... still trying to replicate it myself, but can't. Tried solo using Host & Play ingame, tried with two clients on a server run using the dedicated server batch file... everything worked fine :\
Ive only managed to get it to break one time in an mp server with just this mod tough, and that time it duplicate dropped it as my pc lagged so idk if that counts lol
- Try testing on a server you host yourself with the same mods.
- If it still bugs out from the above, try testing again but with only the unicorn mod and dependencies.
- Test if dropping the flute without any attunement somehow results in it becoming attuned to you.
In the meanwhile, I still have a few things I can try to replicate the issue, but point 2 is the main one I want to find out because if the flute doesn't bug out with only the unicorn mod and its dependencies, then it's a mod conflict and would explain why I can't reproduce it x.x
i even added back the mods we had in chunks until they were all enabled and it was still working.
but the second he boots up the server and i join and spawn myself one i can attune myself to it but then if i drop and pick it up it says attuned to nobody again
I'm curious to know if it still happens when you only run the unicorn mod and dependencies.
Regarding wings, there's currently no way to wear wings without the custom wings showing up. I'll add a quick item into the L'il Dragon mod that lets you hide them, similarly to how there's an item that lets you have the wings always stay closed, even when in use.
And lastly, no, the invincibility increase actually uses the same internal 'flag' as the Cross Necklace, so the game basically thinks you're already wearing a Cross Necklace while galloping and thus won't stack the effect.
is it possible to hide the wings that appear on the playermodel whenever i equip wings? i like the fact i turn into an alicorn but it obscures my new pretty saddle that i wanna show off.
And uh second of all does the invulnerability extention stack if i wear the cross necklace?
which is a shame becaue i oddly like the ideas and inclusions of all the mount and restriction gear stuff like the leads and bridle and stuff!
I can only suspect that it may be a mod conflict of some sort, although the very nature of only some parts of a weapon becoming invisible sounds... impossible to me- it should be the whole weapon, or nothing at all.
It might be out of my control to fix, but I can at least take a look if I know which weapon is the problem.
does not fix it can you plz fix it
I don't really have any plans for further racial abilities right now, as they already have the innate galloping mechanic and a toggleable walk/run state.
I'll probs be taking a bit of a break before tackling my next race. As I mentioned a bit below as well, I will likely be trying a very small race next, like a bat.
The framework of a flying creature like that could very well pave the way for a playable harpy, though ;)
There's also the issue of really big races just obstructing others on the race selection screen XD
But things like Harpies, Red Devils, Bats, (insert any other NOT 4 block tall thing here) are fair game without any special assistance.
I'm not 100% sure what my next race will be, but it'll likely be something very small (like, physical size kinda small) and something with vanilla sprites I can reuse to make my life easier ;)
but yeah I'm just gonna rule out the 'vanilla wyvern' for now because making a player with a segmented body sounds like a programming nightmare o_o
Like a wyvern, which would be like an alternate dragon, maybe being faster and smaller instead of tanky (I wasn't thinking the terraria kind of wyvern, but the 2 legs, 2 wings kind. A terraria wyvern race wold be cool tho, but it'd probably have to have custom sprites so it isn't full length which I imagine would be insane to code f it were at full length)
if you were to do a race of something from another game, maybe a slugcat? I would think their special ability would be fitting into 1 block tunnels, but they can't use anything while in that tight a space (which would also avoid weirdness with such a small hitbox size) (I'd even want to try to help with spriting it, too)
Maybe some kind of race that has a tall but thin/normal/vanilla width hitbox?
But yeah, you do't have to take these ideas, I just thought I might share them.
I also think there should be a race mod that has a smaller hitbox. Not just shorter but with a wider hitbox, smaller in general.
Dunno if I'd play as a squirrel one tho.
If I can figure out how to make the player smaller than 2 blocks high without projectiles spawning in the ground, then maaayyybe some more races will be possible... ;)
