@Jamie Bertle
I have tried and my game is often crashin at the start or laggin in the game. There seems to be a conflict between these two but I cant point my finger at what and why.
Orcodstra 28 Mar @ 5:13pm
this is EXACTLY what i need to stop just quitting the moment i get bit
jamie bertle 15 Mar @ 7:23am
Would this mesh well with the antibodies mod?
Blackcan  [author] 28 Jan @ 1:23pm
@zombe
thanks i will test it with the newest B42 update and patch it accordingly
thanks for telling me
Zombe 28 Jan @ 1:11pm
@blackcan I am unavare if there is or isnt regular infections now (not zombificating type), but it seems like bites give you infection every time you get them, and laceratiopns and scratches give it to you from time to time. There is no such thing as "false infection" in my testing.
Probably you should check it yourself, but seems like it does not work at B42 at all.
Blackcan  [author] 28 Jan @ 12:09pm
@zombe
i haven't tested it with the newest unstable version yet, but the safest way to know if its doing what its doing would be to start the game as debug and give your self a lot of scratches, and then give yourself a bite

if in the character debug window it says fake infected, then it works as intended :)
Zombe 28 Jan @ 10:28am
For my first run of B42 I got this mod.
I got two scratches, which should not be lethal at all, and for 3 days have been guessing is this mod's regular behaviour or am I really infected.
Last 10 mins of gameplay I was fighting just for the sake of knowing if it is Z or smoething else.

Great mod! Yet I still have to discover if it works as intended.

@Rachel L
Not yet, sadly i was really busy the last days so i haven't finished implementing all i want to implement yet
Rachel L 13 Jan @ 1:13pm
does your mod touch the antibiotics?
Blackcan  [author] 8 Jan @ 10:38am
@Maitremagnakai
as my mod may introduce symptoms just like the real infection, it may be that the vaccine, wasn't necessary, as you never were really infected and just had a immune response

to verify this, you can start the game with the start parameter "-debug" and then see in the debug menu if your character is infected or just fake infected
Maitremagnakai 8 Jan @ 10:19am
Does your mod work with the mod 'They Knew'? Because I have all the symptoms, and my health has gradually decreased. Even though I took a vaccine, the symptoms haven't disappeared. Do you have any advice or a response to this?
Blackcan  [author] 6 Jan @ 7:27am
@iRoboFw0ggy
not yet but this sounds like a good idea to Add!
I will update the mod accordingly :)
iRoboFw0ggy 6 Jan @ 7:11am
How does this mod interact with the vanilla Resilient trait? Does it make it more likely you become immune?
Blackcan  [author] 6 Jan @ 12:17am
@dmony actually the whole purpose of this mod is that you never know how immune are you, as my goal is to make you uncertain and unsure if a bite will kill you or not.
i will think about it as a optional setting, but even then i assume i will use very vague language as i don't want to give any clarity on how good your immunity has grown or not
tilarium 5 Jan @ 4:45pm
Agreed, maybe gain a trait or something to show. As for being completely immune, it caps out at 50% unless you changed the sandbox setting for it, just an FYI
Dmony 5 Jan @ 4:24pm
How do i know if im completely inmune? Would be awesome if we get a trait icon to see the progress or something like that
Thebrokenbucket 5 Jan @ 11:58am
very nice thx mane
psykos 5 Jan @ 11:23am
this mod kinda reminds me of NMRIH as getting bit doesnt always mean infection. amazing job
Blackcan  [author] 5 Jan @ 2:49am
@Hobos
It seems to mostly work, but sometimes it can cause a error which doesn't seem to be too bad, and i have to look into it the next week, so i can give you a vague good to go
Hobos 4 Jan @ 9:04am
@Blackcan
Thanks, just I saw alot of potential for the mod, just wasn't sure that they would co-exist well.
Blackcan  [author] 4 Jan @ 8:57am
@Hobos
thats actually a good question, as my Mod kinda relies on limbs, i will test it and can try to implement a patch so it works with "The Only Cure"
Hobos 4 Jan @ 8:47am
Might this work with The Only Cure - Rebuilt?
Blackcan  [author] 4 Jan @ 4:25am
Also i decided not to give any visual cues on how good your immunity is, so that getting bitten is still Tense till you are either turned into a zombie or recover
Blackcan  [author] 4 Jan @ 4:23am
@Rachel

I haven’t used Antibodies or heard much about it before, but from what I’ve read, the key difference seems to be when it works. Antibodies seem designed to help fight the Knox Virus after you’ve been infected, aiding in recovery.

In contrast, my system works more like developing a natural immunity, similar to how people build resistance to snake venom over time. For example, if your character gets scratched but doesn’t contract the Knox Virus (possibly receiving small doses of it), they could gradually build antibodies. Later, if they’re exposed to a larger dose of the virus, these antibodies might prevent full infection. Instead, your character could simply have an immune reaction, like a fever, but not get the virus.
Rachel L 4 Jan @ 3:54am
In your opinion, how does your mod compare to the antibodies mod (that has been updated to b42)?
Blackcan  [author] 4 Jan @ 1:05am
@ParaScuba
thats what the mod is about, it gives you symptoms of a Infection since your immunsystem fights the Virus
You know if you are safe if the symptoms get better
ParaScuba 3 Jan @ 11:01pm
@blackcan actually i didnt die yet, just see those icon stress and sickness. i recall it's lead to death in vanilla.
Blackcan  [author] 3 Jan @ 8:06am
@Rachel
As Far as i see it should work as when you would survive, your vaccine doesn't do anything to it and when you are infected and then use the "vaccine" then it should still heal you but i can't 100% garuntee it
Rachel L 3 Jan @ 6:45am
Does this work with They Knew?
Blackcan  [author] 3 Jan @ 1:39am
@ParaScuba
how were your settings?
This mod doesn't garuntee immunity depending on your settings
tilarium 3 Jan @ 1:38am
Using the base settings, every character has a 0.01% immunity. Every time they could have been infected but weren't, that immunity rises. At the base settings, they have a maximum of 50% immunity. Those numbers are all changeable in the sandbox settings when setting up a game.
ParaScuba 3 Jan @ 12:58am
i got dying **confused**
Tin 2 Jan @ 5:21pm
I hate you so much for this mod, despite I cannot stop playing with it. xD Honestly, this is a very good balance
Taboody Efferwood 2 Jan @ 12:49pm
the thumbnail looks like their kissing :p2chell:
Blackcan  [author] 2 Jan @ 1:00am
@Incatnito
Yes, this definitley will work for saliva only as i play Saliva only on my Dedicated server too
cat68 2 Jan @ 12:59am
will this still work if i have the sandbox option for saliva only? (42)
Oh-ShIny 1 Jan @ 11:39am
This mod is amazing :steamhappy:
Blackcan  [author] 31 Dec, 2024 @ 2:25am
Multiplayer is Tested now and B42 Port is now in progress, i suppose a day or two
Blackcan  [author] 30 Dec, 2024 @ 11:57pm
Yes this mod will, as soon as i have tested it in MP for B41, be also updated to B42
Thebrokenbucket 30 Dec, 2024 @ 8:10pm
b42 please this mod feels like gamble i like it
Bully056 30 Dec, 2024 @ 5:35pm
Out of Curiosity, Will this be updated to B42?
Blackcan  [author] 30 Dec, 2024 @ 3:25pm
that is the whole point, i like the idea of the uncertain
hope you like it!
tilarium 30 Dec, 2024 @ 3:23pm
Hmmm. Interesting concept. I think I'll give this a play or two and try it out. Actually, I hate the 99.9% chance of death if you're bit or scratched but also hate the 100% chance of immunity that exists from other mods. This is a nice change of pace, to not guarantee death but also not make it to easy either.
