[B42] Can anyone offer advice on how this mod effects the bleach water bucket for cleaning? a post elsewhere referencing the cleaning said 100 ml of bleach for a bucket then filled with water. do i need keep the same ratio for it to get used as bleach water when cleaning? Im using the one to one ratio mod. so bucket are BIG

are you having any issues with the mod?
Salty Oreos  [author] 7 Mar @ 7:24pm
@mitchelvories not sure what you mean
irrelevantredundancy 7 Mar @ 6:16pm
Does this need to be updated after for new tag after update B42.4? The new getFluidAmount in lieu of getWaterAmount .
Salty Oreos  [author] 19 Feb @ 2:49pm
This increases the weight of them when full of water, because there is more water.
If you are having any issues boiling water, let me know what heat source you are trying to boil the water on and I'll try to fix it.
Salty Oreos  [author] 19 Feb @ 2:48pm
Yes

do containers hold more liquid when using your mod than they do when not using your mod.
Salty Oreos  [author] 19 Feb @ 1:35pm
OTO uses real world measurements for liters, or at least tries to.
The weight of the fluid is not changed, but fluid has its own weight and will cause the full cooking pot to weigh more the more fluid you put in the pot
irrelevantredundancy 19 Feb @ 10:32am
I just want to make sure I understand correctly. both OTO and GB will increase the amount of fluids held by containers compared to vanilla game values/ Relative to each version of the mod, GB's increase is 2x that of OTO. Does this change the weight of fluids in the game? Does a full cooking pot weigh that same regardless of the changes to volume made by the mod?
Elmano 16 Feb @ 4:06am
you are an angel, thank you
Salty Oreos  [author] 16 Feb @ 3:21am
@Elmano Forged pot can't use liquids in vanilla or in this mod?
Elmano 15 Feb @ 11:01am
hey, this is more of an request than anything, but could you fix the forged cooking pot? currently we can't put liquids on it
SashaDeminova 10 Feb @ 6:49pm
That definitely feels like a good compromise!
Salty Oreos  [author] 10 Feb @ 6:28pm
@SashaDeminova
I based the cooking pot off of a 24 qt pot due to it being near the size of your torso.
I actually have a water dispenser in my house irl so I figured the in game ones were 5gal as well :P
I based the bucket off an english plaster bucket, which would come out at about 24kml (1kml less than the vanilla bucket so I left it as is) and is much smaller than the water dispenser bottle.

I think the only thing wrongly sized is the cooking pot, I do think it's more than 12qt but less than 24qt since it's above half the size of the water dispenser bottle while also wider than it.
Maybe it's a 16 quart cooking pot? (4gal) since I would guess it's over 2/3rd of the water dispenser bottle.
SashaDeminova 10 Feb @ 5:25pm
From brief research, it looks like:
- Cooking pot would likely be a 12 quart pot, meaning approximately 11.5L Doubled, this would be 23 liters in-game (close to the number you have for the irl pot, maybe you mistakenly took the number that should have been for in-game?)
- Water dispenser irl would be 5 gallons, which is accurate with the 19L you have in the mod
- Buckets have a huge variance in size irl, but my untrained eye estimates that it's a 5 gallon bucket - so it should be on par with the water dispenser

Just my two cents. Hope this helps!

@NiflheimBeoulve No I haven't touched the fluid values of any tile entities.
Sounds like you would enjoy this person's mod though!

Does this also modify the liquid values of sinks and tubs? I find them lacking in the capacity department as well seeing that once water service is down, you now rely on tarp rain collectors for water, and for some reason, I can't wash all my clothes because the water cap is too low.

Thanks for the update!

Update: Jan 29 @ 10:10pm
Added a patch mod to increase the storage size of campfires and stoves to 50.
Salty Oreos  [author] 14 Jan @ 7:21pm
Also there has only been one update, and that was to add the alternative version.
If you want the massive storage quantities again, activate fluidcontainersGB instead of fluidcontainersOTO
Salty Oreos  [author] 14 Jan @ 7:13pm
@谢之梦 these numbers are not as accurate as I want them to be tbh.
If anything, the pot and bucket may need to be nerfed as it's very possible that the math I used to calculate their storage capacity was wrong.
I do know that the dispenser bottle is correct though, as a 5 gallon bottle is just below 19L.
谢之梦 14 Jan @ 6:55pm
before the latest update water dispenser bucket can take huge amount of water
谢之梦 14 Jan @ 6:54pm
i dont know why water dispenser bucket can take only 19L water while pot is 22.5L and bucket 25L
brutetooth 14 Jan @ 10:12am
OTO, (realism ftw) so a full cooking pots weighs 22 or so. Most cooking containers are 10 or 15.

A bunch, I added a collection.
Salty Oreos  [author] 13 Jan @ 6:48pm
Off topic, but I'm interested in what other mods you're running alongside this. :beeped:
Salty Oreos  [author] 13 Jan @ 6:46pm
Are you using the GB or OTO version? OTO version has all the fluid values halved, meaning the pot would be half the weight.
brutetooth 13 Jan @ 6:27pm
Barrel oven is bugged and not working for 42. Antique stove is too small as well. You don't put items inside for fuel, game just consumes them.
Salty Oreos  [author] 13 Jan @ 6:22pm
@brutetooth Hmm, are you able to put it in an antique stove? Those are wood powered ain't they?
What about the barrel oven?
brutetooth 13 Jan @ 6:20pm
Can't boil tainted water :( you still can with kettles and pans, but it would be nice to use cooking pota as well. Especially as a 10 years later player.
Salty Oreos  [author] 13 Jan @ 2:22pm
@brutetooth unfortunately there isn't an unobtrusive way to modify tile entities.
Is there a particular reason you're trying to put entire pots of water in those containers?
Turning them into food usually decreases their weight down to just a few kg?
Salty Oreos  [author] 13 Jan @ 1:33pm
Good catch, I'll see about increasing the storage size of cooking containers
brutetooth 13 Jan @ 1:18pm
Larger containers such as cooking pots do not fit in campfires, bbqs/propane bbqs. I'd increase them too.
Salty Oreos  [author] 10 Jan @ 9:57pm
@SetSailForDick Good news. I updated the mod to be compatible with other mods, and added in an alternative version of the mod with 1:1 fluid values instead of doubled. You should be able to carry pots much easier with 22.5 liters instead of 45
SetSailForDick 5 Jan @ 7:08pm
It's edging (lel) on the limit, could be another mod like I said, but if I have basically anything else in my inventory I can't lift the water. Managed to get it eventually
Salty Oreos  [author] 5 Jan @ 6:49pm
you should be able to still hold it in your inventory? I haven't been forced to set the pot on the ground, it just maxes my encumbrance. Maybe you have too much in your inventory already?
SetSailForDick 5 Jan @ 6:31pm
It would appear that I can't even transfer fluid out of them since I can't physically carry them, can't fill bottles or anything... The new liquids system is weird to say the least.
Salty Oreos  [author] 5 Jan @ 6:27pm
@setsailfordick sounds like you have a great start to your pre-water shutoff prep
SetSailForDick 5 Jan @ 6:00pm
Yeah it's an awkward interaction, since you need to have the pot in your inventory in order to "craft" it into soup, so I would fill it and instantly put it down because my character couldn't hold the weight. I don't even know if you can start a soup using the new crafting menu.

I totally understand your meaning, I just now have over 160 kilo of water pots in my kitchen I'm trying to find a way to remove
Salty Oreos  [author] 5 Jan @ 5:57pm
@setsailfordick does this affect soup weight? I kinda figured you would just fill the pot when you're about to make food. Lugging around a giant pot of water while looting just doesn't seem reasonable.
The weight scales with how much water is in a container, 1ltr of water is 1 encumbrance. That's vanilla.
SetSailForDick 5 Jan @ 3:06pm
Hey so how am I supposed to make scrumptious rat soup if the pots weigh 46 kilos? Could it be another mod modifying the water weight, or if that intentional?
