u2964 - A driver may drive up to 11 hours after 10 consecutive hours off duty.
u2964  [author] 10 Jun @ 9:34pm
kawada, Hamilton - ATS has working time and sleep time according to US law, I think, so mod is not needed. Or am I thinking wrong?

Toro - Do you know why Trucky App considerss this mod as forbidden? Isn't it because of the economy file editing in general?
Toro 10 Jun @ 7:56am
Very good mod, I enjoy running it. Only issue I have noted (not with the mod specifically) is that Trucky App considers this a "Forbidden Mods" and will not include your kilometers driven for Hardcore Simulation mode. I will be watching for an ATS mod if you decide to put one out.
KAWADA 27 May @ 11:29pm
This is a great mod. I hope this will continue to be updated in the future and I hope the ATS version will also be released someday.

Nikin - mod changes driving time (original 11 hours to 9 hours in mod) and rest time (original 9 hours to 3h 40 min in mod). The game has only one break. You can use break 3x in a row. This mechanism is used to rest 11 hours like IRL (in simple rules). For better experience near real life in game capabilities is driving 9 hours max and then rest 3x for full 11 hours rest. You can rest 3h 40min only and it is OK for game. But IRL you can have small pause and then drive an hour, so this modification is for this purpose.

The Friar - Yes, of course. I'll have time this weekend to do the update for 1.54, I haven't upgraded yet. No time for that.
The Friar 6 Mar @ 4:02am
are you going to upgradev this mod to 1.54?
yoko 18 Feb @ 3:01am
The description is not making a lot of sense to me, so what does this mod really do? Just cuts breaks to 3h40m? At which point does it switch from the driver taking a full break and a short one?

How do i know when to stop?
u2964  [author] 13 Jan @ 10:10am
awes0m3 - Yes, EU regulation has exceptions to the basic cycle for driving time of 10 hours in one week. Please implement this as a mod in the game and many players will be excited about this mod, including me. ;-)
u2964  [author] 13 Jan @ 10:10am
Dominik - I don't have time to play ATS at the moment (which was true throughout 2024), so I don't feel the need to make this mod for ATS yet. Moreover, I am not familiar with the regulation in the US, so I will need to study it first and then make calculations on how to change and adjust what. Therefore, if it does come up, I can't guarantee it for myself.

RNG TWOJ TATUS - For the mod to work:
1) Subscribe the mod here in Steam Workshop
2) After launching the game in the main menu, select 4th item Mods
3) Move it from the left list of mods with the > button to the right column of active mods
4) Confirm Changes at the bottom and proceed to the game normally.
In the game settings (System > Options > Gameplay) you must have the first item Fatigue simulation enabled (it is enabled by default).
u2964  [author] 13 Jan @ 10:09am
Fazekas Viktor - this is not truck mod, this is economy data mod.

Harald [H&W TruckTuning] - As I mentioned above, the details are known to me, however the basic cycle is 9h driving and 11h rest, see e.g. https://www.bluedropservices.co.uk/blog/181/HGV-driver-hours-and-rest-infographic/ .
I do not mention anywhere that it is a reality mode or that it is fully realistic. In the ETS2 scales (1:19, 1:15, 1:3) for the different areas it doesn't even make sense to deal with 4.5 hour breaks, only the total 9 hours. Therefore it's a step towards reality in what the game setup allows. Nothing more, nothing less.
u2964  [author] 13 Jan @ 10:09am
R&J TRUCKING .CO#23 - Yes, you're right. There are dozens of requests from players on forum.scssoft.com for a change towards reality, including the possibility of tachograph features. But since the game only supports three parameters - driving time, coasting time and maximum driving average, the only way to get one step closer to reality is to get closer to the basic European regulation cycle of 9h driving and 11h rest, even though IRL has a lot of exceptions and controls over weeks, which is impossible to simulate in ETS2. That's why the Driver Working Time 9/11 mod and its modification was created, this mod that splits the rest into three parts - i.e. it's not reality, but it's a bit closer than the default game setting. Nothing more, nothing less. And yes, I've also had a number of players that would like to be able to check the Enable Tachograph in the game settings.

Hello. Answers to comments.

恐竜_Kyōryū - Yes, the average speed is adjusted, which is partially used to calculate the delivery time, so that a player with 11 hours of sleep will be able to meet the delivery deadline. This can negatively affect the speed of hired drivers (I don't know if these drivers use the same speed parameter for their deliveries). So it's better to count on it.

Milos13 - I don't know if hired drivers are affected by the parameter change in the current version of the game, but years ago they were. If you want hired drivers to run at maximum speed, then don't use this mode. I have no other reliable solution.
awes0m3 12 Jan @ 3:29am
kind of...... real life you can drive 10h 2xweek and keep 9h breaks 3xweek. so i dont understand how this compares to real life.
RNG TWOJ TATUS 12 Jan @ 1:44am
how to use this mod?
Dominik 11 Jan @ 8:05am
According to US regulations, when will this mod be available for ATS?
Harald [H&W TruckTuning] 11 Jan @ 5:46am
Nice idea,
but unfortunately not quite realistic.
We truck drivers are allowed to drive for a maximum of 4.5 hours at a time, then we have a break of 45 minutes, but this can be done in 1 x 15 minutes and 1 x 30 minutes.

After that we are allowed to drive for 4.5 hours again. We are allowed to drive for another hour if we have taken another 45-minute break, but only twice a week and not one after the other.

In addition, we are only allowed to shorten our break time to 9.00 hours if we have had at least one break of 11 hours beforehand.
R&J TRUCKING .CO#23 10 Jan @ 1:07pm
u2964...if you want the realism factor , SCS need to go back to the earlier game of 18WOS where the log book / Work Diary page was used ...it was the best part of the game as well as the time factor for repair and cost... ATM in Australia the drive time requirement stands at for a normal day 12 hour drive with 2 x 30 min breaks or for those who want to correct me ...5.25 hrs drive 30min rest, 5.25hrs drive 30min rest , then the balance of 13 hours. And at the minimuim a 7/ 8hr rest before starting your next days work (rest break if not running overnight freight must be taken between 10pm & 5am ) put quite simply ....The 18WOS rest page allowed you to actuall pull over off the road and manually enter you desired break length, like I said a great concept of that series of games....Rusty
Fazekas Viktor 10 Jan @ 10:49am
truck md?
Milos13 10 Jan @ 10:17am
Could You somehow make the workers I hire not affected by the mod?
恐竜_Kyōryū 9 Jan @ 10:37pm
By simulation speed, do you mean the employees you hired in game? so, for player-wise, everything is tailored to the meet the optimal delivery condition right?
ImmerGeradeaus 6 Jan @ 9:38am
@ahriman; change average speed to adapt delivery window for that (set it to 10kmh and never be late again), problem solved.
best wishes to you too (or good fucking luck in your words)

@author thanks
u2964  [author] 5 Jan @ 10:13am
@Ahriman Thank you for your opinion. If the game engine is already modified in the way you described, then there is nothing else to do but to use another mode, namely Driver Working Time 9x11 .
In my limited testing, nothing negative has occurred so far, but that doesn't mean it's yet to happen. On which version of the game in ATS do you have experience with this?
Ahriman 5 Jan @ 9:05am
You didn't really think this through, did you?
To be fair, neither did I when I tried the exact same trick with a home made mod in ATS, so let me tell you what you're getting into.

The game uses rest/max work time when calculating the job delivery time windows, in other words resting times are taken into consideration.
So what happens when you split the resting time into smaller portions? The game will now assume that each ofyour driving cycles consists of 9h of work, and 3:40 of sleep. If you stick to roleplaying and use 3 such stops for every 9 h of driving, you're screwing yourself over, because the game assumed you'd only rest once per 9 h. It made arriving on time borderline impossible in ATS, but in ETS2?

Good fucking luck. You'll need to massively extend delivery windows that happen to be just below the resting time in the economy_data.sii. But since delivery window length is fixed, you'll end up unbalancing long distance or short distance jobs.
BIG_MONKE 4 Jan @ 3:49pm
I like this mod, it brings even more realism
