What happened was, the mod is only located in the 42 folder and needed a copy of the files to be in root folder. I literally just moved the files and it shows up in mod list now.

And second, how you gonna give someone crap about giving a vague description and then try to trash on them about having low writing skill levels right after you asked your own question that looks like it was written by a 1st grader?
"sorry I'm pretty new to PZ mods -- so does what this do, break immersion?" - Mitchel Vories
so does what this do, break immersion? -- Maybe before you start throwing rocks Mitchel, make sure you don't live in a glass house. Just stick to just playing games man, the whole internet keyboard warrior troll gig your trying to front isn't for you.
Be grateful to the people who spend their hard earned free time doing something that benefits you, and that you get for FREE. This shit is difficult, and take a ton of time and effort, even for a mod author who has a lot of experience.
Keep up the great work JawKneePlays, and don't let a few incessant children get in the way of contributing to the mod community - the large majority of us appreciate it!
For anyone that is waiting for the nested containers mod, there is this new one that only shows the first layer (so a duffel bag inside a crate is shown, but not the garbage bag that is inside the duffel bag, for example) and is being worked on right now (there is a crash bug with those plastic bags inside of plastic bags that spawn in the trunk of some cars)
I too missed nested containers so this is perfect. The only typo in your description is complexed instead of complex. Excellent writing too if stoned like I currently am lmao.
English is my first language and I don't think there is anything wrong with the structure of my sentence personally, but who cares anyway. The mod does what it's supposed to do.
I actually did check to see if I could block him from my workshop. If you're going to act like a twat then I don't want you to have it.
I almost didn't even upload it to the workshop. I made it for myself while I got high, but I felt selfish having it while others were waiting. And I only put in the time to learn Lua and PZ's code base to figure out how to re-hash someone else's code in an attempt to re-create Nested Containers for myself. I'm just home now from a bar job ffs...
So, to anyone else that feels that I owe you anything because I posted this mod, don't subscribe and go fuck yourself. Thanks
As a side note: I will revisit coding for this game to see if I can get Nesting to work. I pumped a lot of hours in trying to get it and I think my knowledge just isn't there yet.
And second, if you really wanted to help him, you should go and nicely explain what was wrong, not barge in like a total douche
@JawKneePlay, i really missed the nested containers mod from B41, thats great you came up with your mod keep the good work man!
Alright pal. Make your own mod then. I owe you nothing.
@Inquisition you're welcome buddy
It creates a button for containers in the player inventory without needing to equip them, making them...Accessible...
Again, currently this mod does NOT support nesting. You maybe using the previous version of the mod which attempted nesting but that was removed in the latest version.
I suggest making sure the mod is up to date and see if you are getting the same behavior. If you are, then I think something else is happening to allow you to nest?!
Tested with this mod and difficulty mode only, same behavior:
Put bag 1 in bag 2
Drop bag 2
Transparent icon for bag 1 appears, same when in car.
Use barricaded start to start with some bags, after the crash it seems to remove the barricades and bags.
When also using Proximity inventory, items from nested bag (1) is also available in the window from that mod.
Can it be due to resolution?
I think if the game didn't completely crash every time I tested it I could get somewhere. Anyway, I'll keep trying, or I may look at a workaround, so the buttons are only added after opening that container. This could resolve large lists of containers etc. Makes it a bit more realistic too
@skully gave me that idea
Keep up the great work!
So yeah, another mod is probably extending this functionality, but to the same point I had it when trying to nest containers, it crashes. It looks good initially until you try to open the containers.
I am looking into get this to function and will probably introduce it as a side mod or separate if I can get it to work.
I'll try reaching out to Mxswat. I'm a complete novice with lua and modding so the learning has begun!! Thanks again for the feedback
I don't want to go debugging unless it's for sure my code that is causing your issue
Thanks for the feedback pal
II.
In the trunk of cars
Get 2 bags
Put bag A in Bag B
Put bag B in the trunk of a car
Sometimes it does not work, only showing B.
Most of the time it will show bag B, a shortcut for bag B, and bag A as if it is in the trunk.
If you click bag A from the trunk menu, the game crashes.
Crafting seems to work most of the time from all containers, if using the global menu from Proximity inventory.
You might want to consider separate versions to test nested containers,
using the items inside the bags might work without the buggy side menu clones.
See if you can do something with that info, let me know if I can look into anything else, I would be glad to help.
I also use Proximity inventory (by Mxswat), Customizable Containers, Better containers and a lot of other mods,
but I think the one you might be interested in talking to is Mxwat,
there seems to be an interaction with his mod that makes yours work just fine, unless you click the wrong container in the side menu.
However, nested containers crash the game.
The issue (I think):
I. On ground and in containers
Get 2 bags
Put bag A in Bag B
In inventory, this does nothing
Drop bag B on the ground
At least for me with the mods I get: 1 global menu, 1 bag A, 1 bag B.
Both bags look like they are dropped on the ground, no shortcut
In boxes it kind of works but you still get the odd bag without shortcut that crashes the game sometimes.
The global menu shows all items inside both bags, most of the time (It sometimes does not work with huge hoards of items).
This mod creates a button for those containers so you don't need to equip them to view the contents. You'll know it's the mod adding the button because it's dimmer than the default buttons
I'm looking into nesting etc, but it's fucking hard lol
It work , Nice job
Thank you
Give it a test and let me know if it crashes for you at all!!
Thanks guys
Got in vehicle, clicked on backpack on my back to unequip and crashed. Bag disappeared after login in. Also crashed when clicking bags on vehicle seats and on vehicle trunk.
By default in B42 you have to equip these boxes to open them (correct me if I'm wrong here)
