Ngl, it's cool neat concept. However, it's best with friends ngl instead with bots. Because, bots can be deadweight. Especially, since they mostly carry main weapons before they gonna run out ammo which forced them to switch secondary weapons.

Walking while carrying heavier weapons seems to slow you down to a mere sloth, especially bad for bots since they don't know how circumvent their way around it and will instead start teleporting around thinking they're stuck.
Tried making it so that all weapons heavier than the magnum have the same walk speed as it which mostly solves the issue, but doesn't quite work on the forced walking on 1 temp HP.
Crouch speed works perfectly fine though, this problem only happens when walking.

I think instead of what you're holding, it should slow you down based on what the heaviest item you have is

i found a bug, when using adrenaline, you dont get the speed boost while carrying a weapon, you have to switch to a grenade, medkit or pills to get the boost.

Cool mod. Is it possible that you can also allow speed boost instead with your addon? I tried making pistols and melee weapons friction_modifier = 0.9 but it really doesn't affect anything. I hope you consider my advice too.

This is perfect for my modded versus server. A great counterbalance for more powerful survivor weapons.

Some bugs i found:

Holding shift while carrying a heavy enough weapon will make you slightly faster instead of having your speed halfed furter/unchanged.

Standing in water, switching weapon, having low health and/or being hit by a infected will almost completely stun you for much longer than normal even when using a light melee. Instead of a common slowing you down for 1 second it seems to fully stop you for 5 seconds with a single hit.

(Could be the game itself and not the mod:)
The speed displayed when using cl_showpos is incorrect.


Not bugs but could be features worth considering:

Having adrenaline override the slowdown (like water) since its temporary, consumes a item and is meant for rushing.

I've used the vpk unpacker before so that's great to hear! Though what I meant before is a cfg file usually found in the ems folder since for this mod I can't seem to find it.

If you know how to open .vpk file and see my vscript then yes. Otherwise it's gonna take me some time before I add the ability to edit all of these stats through chat (as it's the best imo). But I'm pretty sure that I'll add it in the future.

We thought of doing that during development. Though, in practice it would render those weapons utterly worthless, especially if you're trying to outrun a tank. Also, we'd like the weight rule to be consistent and straightforward (e.g, primary slows, secondary doesn't).

minor suggestion, two handed melee weapons like the fire axe, guitar and ect should slow you down more then one handed melee weapons.

@SaturnianDragon Nope. It doesn't use WeaponData, thus not using any parameter in it. You can use this on any weapon script.

Will this conflict with custom/non vanilla weapon scripts?
I know weapon scripts have MaxPlayerSpeed parameter, does this mod force the game to use that parameter, or how does this mod work?
