Great mod! I did get that funny keep multiply feature from the mod that give me 1k frying pan to cook. I think by changing the Loot-seen-prevent-hours setting may prevent it

This mod is great. The skill is really easy to level as the more you level it by looting, the more likely you are to activate the skill by finding something special. THat in turn gives you more xp. So the more levels you have, the faster you gain xp in this skill. Quite useful

Once there was a little boy called Joey, he was ten-years-old and he lived in a mental hospital because he posted a crappy copypasta onto a People Playground mod's comment section . He got so bad he went to kill all the staff in the hospital so the Feds decided that best idea was to get rid of him so they set up a special room to kill him, as inhumane as possible. And he sat there in agony for hours until he died. Now every week on the day of his death he returns to the person that reads this letter, on a monday night at 12:00 a.m. He creeps into your room and kills you slowly, by pegging you and watching you bleed to death. Now send this to ten other profiles on this one site, and he will haunt someone else who doesn't. This isn't fake. apparently if u copy and paste this to ten comments in the next ten minutes nothing will happen: sorry man i am not taking the risk

One of my containers went into the thousands because it kept multiplying and then started to lag with the amount of items :steamsad:

fun fact:

there is a bloody bug (or not maybe the build 42 unstable)
when i found a stuff or something after that i came back to check it again IT MULTIPLIED

if the bloody steam let us post the image on comments

i dont know its true or not

more believer way: it multiplied AND BROKE THE LAWS OF THIS UNIVERSE BY BYPASSING THE CONTAINER LIMIT (it was a metal shelve (30 unit limit)) and bypassed it by 90.4 unit

Sometimes it seems that some container apply the bonus multiple times, some i end getting like 6000 box of ammo for example, dont know if its after reloading the save or what. Someone got similar issue ?

@Afterworlds - Similar to the Driving Skill mod, you may want to look into your distributions.lua file. Even when literature is set to "abundant" I was only able to find a small number of books compaed to vanilla ones in bookstores.

Additionally, I also made a patch for this mod to make it compatible with my Simple Skill Books mod on request. Again, do you have any plans to merge your B41 and B42 version?

Hello, Not sure if you are aware, didn't read all the post, but playing with more traits and dynamic traits, only taking Scavenger 1 point is working, if you take scrounger, or grave robber it is not adding to the scavenge bonus. I have a character with all 3 I just started and only 1 skill level shows up at +75%.
Any ideas?

@mr_farfi, the only thing I can think would allow scavenge to fire more than once, is if the modData for the player gets cleared out. There is a table that stores "How long until scavenge can look again" and if that is missing, then its allowed to look.

@mr_farfi I'm gonna have to install your whole mod list and try to get it to duplicate, I can't seem to get scavenge to fire more than once per container, and even with 500% loot, I can't get my numbers that high :D

I did verify it is not proximity inventory lol

so i left the xp gain as default 4, changed the %chance to 10% per level from 0
so lv1 is 20 Lv2 is 30 and so on. the Bonus look % remained default.

mod list is a little on the large side, is there a better format i can send it with?

Hey @Afterworlds that behavior is not being followed. i tested in a warehouse, running past piles and piles of crates,
the contents and their amounts do follow a pattern.
1777 Respirator Filters
7026 Boxes of Nails
1777 Boxes of Screws
1777 Long stick
3559 Short Handle
12984 Planks
1777 Safety Goggles

the capacity of the crate was at 27350.52/78
i have a screen shot if you need it. its starting to reach the point where my game is freezing trying to push this test any further

if only i did this test in a gas station i would never need to farm lol

Sorry I was afk a few days.

@mel and @mv75 by design, it SHOULD only check a container once, as the loot is initially spawned INTO the container. Its hooked to the event that populates a container, and unless that gets fired more than once (which it doesn't in the vanilla code) it should not be able to check a container more than once.

If loot respawn is on, it will be allowed to fire again if the container loot gets respawned. I'll take a look into that mod you mentioned, and do some more testing, but it should only be able to check a container for the skill once.

Pardon me, but how exactly this work? Every time you check a container, random thing spawn, does this increase change of tho random item will spawn & spawn extra along with it? Does this apply to already looted container? And what about zombie loot? How about leveling the skill? Just need to check container for XP?

Sr for bunch of question, but B42 default loot drop get neft to hell, so this is the mod i may need if it can get me more stuff :sad_seagull:

(to add to my previous comment ive only tried this on build 42 in conjunction with the inventory reinvented mod, its possible i could be experience a bug/conflict due to that)

currently this skill is way way too powerful imo, regardless of what % likelihood you set for the skill it is capable of duplicating loot from the same container multiple times, it will check the scavenger duplication for every container you walk by every time you walk by it, simply looting a large warehouse normally without trying to cheese which usually takes multiple trips back to the car causes dozens of duplications from the repeated checks, and the same container can be duped repeatedly, turning a crate with 6 boxes of nails into a crate with 120+ boxes of nails. If it flagged a container after checking so that it doesnt check that container again it would be much more balanced I think.
