Doesn't work with the bayonet mod because they both edit unit stats land table entries.

works with the bayonet mod?

Yeah, I opened up the old one, didn't recognize some of the changes, couldn't remember wth I was thinking at the time, so I decided to just do it again from scratch. There aren't many modifications so it wasn't that hard.

i loved that you remade your old entirely from scratch.
good work man!

In the Spencer mod I just gave them the Spencer weapon model, but not the repeating rifle animation the Tosa Riflemen use. IN the Spencer mod they're literally the same unit as their vanilla counterpart except for that model. IMHO that's the definitive edition of the mod as it doesn't mess with the balance one bit.

because in your current us marine spencer mod, you essentially gave the us marines the spencer skin and reload animation, but with the same stats they had when they were using the musket, am i right?

or am i missing something here?
Khazukan Kazakit-ha! 28 Feb @ 5:14am
yeah @Rockette Morton, can't you just give the us marines the spencer stats from the carbine cavalry?
they can be unmounted and then essentially be infantry, right?

Range is tied to default_missile_type. I was thinking of making a new one, but heaven knows what other dependencies that'd require, so I just gave up and made this: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3410347181

They'll probably fiddle with their breech a bit more than a Repeating Rifle operating gunman like the Tosa Riflemen would, but it's closest to Vanilla so whatever.

Hmmm, that would make them even stronger haha. I assume you tried to decrease their range back down to 125. Maybe you can turn them into light infantry like the Tosa Riflemen? Also, don't the carbine cavalry also have Spencers? And their range is the normal 125 I think. I also don't think it's very historical to give them Spencers, but it'll be fun nonetheless.

I managed to change the gun models and give them Spencers, but there's another problem now. I could give them the repeating rifle animation, thus making them shoot as fast as Tosa Riflemen, but that'll also give them 150 range...

Sadly, FOTS only seems to have 4 models for modern rifles (see the table in the images above). I was considering giving them one of the breech-loaders, but... wait, actually, maybe it would make sense to give them the Spencer repeater. They'd have the lowest accuracy but the highest rate of fire. They'd be a Line Infantry version of the Tosa Riflemen. I'll look into it.

The mod is nice too  US Marines are OP lul

For the US Marines, I think during this time, they would have been issued the Model 1866 Trapdoor Springfield, or any other of the early model trapdoors. It's a shame that they weren't modeled in game. The closest think you could give them in terms of look and function would probably be the Snider. Not saying you should do that if you don't wanna, just thinking in the comments haha.
