(b42.4.1) Velkiel's Reusable Sinks
65 Comments
irrelevantredundancy 7 Jun @ 5:10pm
@SauceDon @BelkjikPakiBlanc -- Reusable Sinks has only been tested with game version, up to 42.4.1. So, it's been restricted to not work with any version after that in case there are any incompatibilities. It's so we don't unwittingly break our game.

But with that said, you can change this, at your own risk, by editing versionMax= *insert current game version* in mod.info in the mod's folder.

why cant i enable this mod on B42 why does it say it has to be in debug
BrianWeWHicks(SweetReturn) 7 Apr @ 6:08pm
okay thank you for clarifying
[E] Velkiel  [author] 5 Apr @ 12:09am
@BiranWeWhicks I mean that you not should use this mod on plumbed sinks, because it's made to remplace this system. If you didn't plumb them, then you can use it pre or post watershutoff, it doesn't matter
BrianWeWHicks(SweetReturn) 4 Apr @ 8:50pm
"I wouldn't advise to NOT plumb any sink with stoppers"
I'm sorry, are you saying to not put the stopper in until after the water is shut off, essentially?
[E] Velkiel  [author] 4 Apr @ 2:13am
Hello Everyone !

Unfortunally, i don't have the time to keep up with the mod breaking updates of the game anymore, as this requires me to go through every changelog for all of my mods, modify all my mods... and i don't have the time to do this or to also test the mods throughly

Especially this mods that deals with the fluid systems core that constantly get updated, and i have to figure out all sorts of backways to make it work anymore

I may go back on this when the updates gets more stable and when i have more time to update this to be more stable too, i don't like pushing fast updates, not knowing if it works fully or not

I flagged this mod to only be enabled on the last supported game version i did of it, which is the 42.4.1 as stated in the title.

Sorry for the inconvinience ! And thanks for all the support :)

@Wesch Thanks for the heads up, i'll check it up when i can

This mod is showing two of the same Context Menu options for sinks only one with the Stopper Sub-Context Option
[E] Velkiel  [author] 8 Mar @ 3:20am
if you still experience issues, you can open a discussion about it and post your errors log there
[E] Velkiel  [author] 8 Mar @ 3:18am
@terriblyrascallysortofthing : I updated the mod. I didn't experience the same bugs per say, but there was indeed issues with the pre-shutoff state of the sinks

note :
Due to this modifications of the game, because of the new way of the infinite water system is now recognized (pre-shutoff) I had to flag the sink and "not piped but can be", as the public function that allowed me to control this has been turned to private by the devs, so unusable from a code point of view in LUA

So, I wouldn't advise to NOT plumb any sink with stoppers, as this behavior is not wanted but required by the game due to their system as it's in the java code and I can't do anything about it

If you wanna plumb that sink or bath later, just remove the stopper beforehand
[E] Velkiel  [author] 5 Mar @ 1:25pm
i'll look into it, thank you !
great mod! however, i am experiencing two issues. one with plugging a sink and then unplugging it before the water shutoff. this effectively disconnects the sink from the kentucky water supply prematurely. the second issue i'm having is that bathtubs can't be plugged at all. i'm noticing errors being thrown in both instances, so i can send them over if needed.
[E] Velkiel  [author] 5 Mar @ 10:42am
Hi all ! the mod has been updated to work with the 42.4.1 which had some water/fluid system reworked so it caused compatibility issues.

Let met know if you encounter any bugs :)
[E] Velkiel  [author] 4 Mar @ 1:04pm
that's probably due to the update, the fluidcontainers system has been reworked. i'll take a look at it when possible. although, there's nicer ways to say it @drshahramanvariazar
drshahramanvariazar 4 Mar @ 11:08am
THE WATER DRINKING FROM SINK DOES NOT WORK!
PanicLedisko 20 Feb @ 10:55am
I absolutely LOVE this mod, thank you so much. I never understood why this wasn't vanilla.
[E] Velkiel  [author] 16 Feb @ 5:23am
Hello everyone ! I updated the mod after compatibility issues with the last game update. let me know in the discussions if you encounter other bugs !
DJGAMING20107 15 Feb @ 9:45pm
i cant fill water into the sink with the stopper
FunnyBunny 15 Feb @ 5:28pm
After the B42.3 patch there is an issue where you can put the stopper in but not fill it or remove the stopper
흉내쟁이 14 Feb @ 2:47pm
An error occurs after putting in the stopper, filling it with water, and then removing the stopper again.
DJGAMING20107 13 Feb @ 6:38pm
makes sense since in most scenarios like this your supposed to fill up your tub for water in case the water goes out.
LumberingTroll 8 Feb @ 2:37pm
If a sink/tub has the stopper in, but the water is still on, can you make it so it just uses the faucet instead of the filled container?
[E] Velkiel  [author] 5 Feb @ 10:38am
@CozyCouch @Achuma.puma for mod compatibility features, can you open discussions about it and explain in detail where my mod intervene in them and how they are not compatible right now?

I'm not familiar with theses mods and need more context/information to make such compatibility

it would make it things way easier for me, thanks !
CozyCouch 5 Feb @ 7:14am
can you please add compatibility with Lifestyle:hobbies mod? because when i put the stopper in , i can't take a bath. it's okay if you can't.
achuma.puma 30 Jan @ 11:49pm
will this work with water goes bad?
[E] Velkiel  [author] 30 Jan @ 4:15pm
@willo: you should be able to do this with my "wash yourself" mod, that you can find in my pz mod collection :)
[E] Velkiel  [author] 30 Jan @ 4:15pm
@tilarium: i pushed an update that should help, thanks for the report ! the problem was you were around a fire, and it seems like their sprites names behaves differently than others sprites, resulting in an error. i added some protection code around that that should fix this. Thank you !
tilarium 30 Jan @ 11:43am
@Velkiel Don't remember if it was doing it earlier or not, but the mod is kicking out an error anytime I right-click.

REALLY COOL MODDD!!! I would ask if u can add a option that allows take a bath with the water, mine seems not able to clean myself or clothes, and maybe making this take a longer time it's a good idea. My apologizes for any bad english, thanks from brazil!!
Rudy 29 Jan @ 12:51am
Thanks for the update, your modules are very useful and both are perfect!
[E] Velkiel  [author] 28 Jan @ 4:29pm
I pushed an update to make this mod more compatible with other mods. Thanks to @WhiffMaster :) let me know if that helps @Rudy
Rudy 28 Jan @ 9:19am
Hi, I have found that this module conflicts with all of your modules, if I use this module it causes me to have to hold the backpack in my left hand in order to clean the body and items, one of your modules has the same conflict!

Installation of your modules must be avoided by installing Throw your bag across this module, as your modules are very practical!

[E] Velkiel  [author] 27 Jan @ 5:37pm
Just released 2.10 ; I hope it should fixes most of the issues you guy encounters. Let me know if you have anymore problems @Rudy @capsulexxx @Autism Chan
Kallum666 27 Jan @ 1:38pm
this was in the "zombie survival guide" and i thought it should have been a vanilla thing (considering the devs took inspiration from the book), I was hoping someone would have done this for build 41. but anyway great job on this mod, keep it up.
Dhars 27 Jan @ 10:02am
Any chance to make this compatible with the mod "Water Goes Bad"?
8hoursofsleep 26 Jan @ 3:02pm
This is so cool! Imagine going to every house just filling the tubs with water
Rudy 26 Jan @ 2:18am
@capsulexxx: Thank you for finding this solution, I can finally use this module!
capsulexxx 25 Jan @ 12:10pm
@[E] Velkiel @Autism Chan Phew~ I finally found a way. You need to hold a container in your left hand. (eg. Garbage bag, Sack, Duffel bag..) Then try it. I'm sure it will work.
Autism Chan 24 Jan @ 9:48am
Directly on the sink, tho i tried all sorts of places, different sinks, bathtubs etc. I'm relatively sure its a mod conflict because it WAS working before. regardless, sending you a screenshot
[E] Velkiel  [author] 24 Jan @ 9:35am
@Autism Chan: Sometimes, the game's click selection is shitty, i've added a warning about it in the mod description. It could help if you'd show a sceenshot of where you are clicking and the context menu itself. thanks !
Autism Chan 24 Jan @ 8:49am
Man i dont know what it is but some mod interferes with it, dont get the option to put the stopper in anymore, it worked before
Batman-[FR] 24 Jan @ 12:17am
Best mod for realism !
[E] Velkiel  [author] 23 Jan @ 11:05am
Update 2.0 :
- Add the ability to fill the container with rain water by placing it outside and plugging it (If you used the mod previously and put a plugged sink outside, you'll need to remove the plug and put it back to make it work with rain collection)
- Balanced the amount of water in some sinks

----

It wasn't easy to figure out and to do, because b42 handles rain collection in a different way than b41
That's also the reason why rain collectors sprites aren't upading with rain water, so i had to figure out how to do it and develop a system for all of this to work properly in the mod

But, here it is ! enjoy
[E] Velkiel  [author] 23 Jan @ 9:46am
@NightFromTheWest12: You don't need a new game for it, no :)
NightFromTheWest12 23 Jan @ 7:39am
does this work on presaves? and do you need to find a stopper or do all sinks and tubs have them?
Sahji 23 Jan @ 6:54am
I always thought this should be a vanilla function. Thank you :)
[E] Velkiel  [author] 22 Jan @ 6:48pm
@Sari-n: I indeed didn't understand correctly, sorry. Yes, now that you have a fluid container for a sink, you'll need one of theses mods for washing to work, because you can't wash in fluid containers in vanilla. There's mine if you want it : https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3393660982
Sari-n 22 Jan @ 6:08pm
Appolagies, I meant that when I fill the sink up, I lose access to the "wash" context menu section, I've seen mods that enable washing from fluid containers so I was assuming it was a vanilla issue.
[E] Velkiel  [author] 22 Jan @ 5:45pm
@Rudy & @Sari-n : i'm going to need way more context that than to be able to answer/help/understand

what sinks are you clicking on, for starters ? maybe take a screen of your click to get the sink and the context menu for me to see, and upload it somewhere and give the link here, please

@Sari-n: otherwise, you don't need any mods with it to for it to work

it's unlikely but not impossible i didn't get all the sinks to make for it to work with, but I'll still need to know which one to be sure
