there is another mod that does this and is updated more often https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3447775367

While testing 42.4.1 i realized I messed up the calculation for water drinking on water bottles in my last patch. Everything works still, but I fixed the bug I introduced. Previously it would drink the entire water bottle every time, now it actually drinks by thirst.

@Kyrox - Unfortunately yes. The patch did normalize the values though so I made a slight update to make the thirst values equal to the new 42.3 values

This still needed for 42.3?

@N0wh3re yea it's a good reminder, I meant to patch it in this mod, I just forgot because I did it in my plumbing mod. I'll adjust this on this mod when I get the chance

I didn't try complaining just want to make sure if you intended this or not. ;)

@Lightja yes i see and i know it's vanilla issue. like other new fluids. they have ridiculously low hydrate properties. for example, all soda has -20 for 1L lol.
I'm pretty sure this mod is not patched yet because my character always empty his bottle when i have level2 thirsty moodle.

my version *should* bring drinking from a bottle to equally as effective as autodrink rather than 1/4th and drinking from a sink is 1/2 as effective.

Also, I just remembered that I think this is patched into my plumbing mod (b42 plumbing fix), but not this mod, I will look into making sure they both have it.

@N0wh3re the discrepencies you're noticing are in the vanilla game. I patched them slightly so they arent as vastly different when you use the mod, but I try to avoid tweaking the vanilla mechanics too much in ways people dont expect, so i didn't exactly normalize them either.

I made a big report here: https://theindiestone.com/forums/index.php?/topic/78761-4220-rev-26060-autodrink-quenches-4x-more-thirst-than-drink-and-8x-more-than-drink-from-sink/#comment-419413

Hello, Does this mod calculate Thirst effect as fluid properties or as Auto-Drink?
I mean, Auto-Drink has -90 Thirst for 1L drinking,
while fluid properties is set to -20 for 1L drinking.
I guess it's -20 instead of -90 because I saw massive amount of water were removed from my bottle when drink?
If -20 is right, can you give us option for it?

Hooo nice!!! thanks for this mod! :cherrypie::spiffo:

@Soldado MX yes you should be able to drink from any container still.
Lightja  [author] 27 Jan @ 3:34pm
@tilarium what you're describing is the intended functionality of the mod. Any fluid container that is all water will remove the portions and just have the "Drink" option like before. Unfortunately the numbers on how much your character actually drinks is 4x what autodrink drinks, but thats a vanilla issue that I reported here:

I'd still appreciate if you can test on vanilla to confirm the quantities, just to make sure, 0.5L = 10% thirst is my understanding. I'll look into trying to tweak the mod to account for this while they work on a fix.

With this MOD am I able to drink water from a glass? :cherrypie:

Ok, back. Here's a screen shot from a fresh game with only this mod active. Only option was drink or enabling auto-drink. So that part isn't a conflict with another mod, just something acting quirky with this one for some reason. The bottle itself was a seltzer bottle that I got in the starter kit that was emptied out and refilled with tap water. After the screenshot, I enabled simple status to see the numbers. Using the drink action brought me from 85/100 to 100/100 (the first thrist moodle level) but also drank .73 L, bringing the bottle to 0.26 / 1 L.

Love your stuff mate

Idk if it's the addon or if there's a compatibility issue with other addons, but having this installed drains my thirst every minute.
tilarium 25 Jan @ 2:44pm
Will do. I haven't had a chance to run the list to find it today, been crazy busy. I have a few ideas of where it might be though, so I'll start testing tomorrow. But one thing I've learned over the years, incompatibilities can come from the most unlikely of places.
Lightja  [author] 25 Jan @ 2:10pm
@tilarium I haven't been able to recreate this. Let me know if you are able to recreate this with just this mod, and if you find its incompatible with another mod, let me know and I can see if its possible to fix the compatbility issue.

Not sure what's going on. On my last game, this mod had everything working fine but today, things have gone weird. My water bottles only have the "drink" option like they did before TIS weirded it up. It worked fine for the first day of this new game, but then started going strange where drinking wouldn't fill the thirst bar and was instead only raising it by 1-10 points while consuming enough water to get to the random amount it handled, but with the full drinking time/animation. Going to have to do some fiddling around and testing. Mods in my list that updated between last night and today shouldn't have effected this, but clearly, something has. Unless TIS did a stealth patch.

Brilliant fix, thank you!!
