The taunt would be so much cooler if the numbers were randomized. Or better yet, if the taunt had a secondary taunt option like some taunts do. main taunt is them writing on the paper, standing there. It loops.
Second part is them showing it. and if you press a number during first part, it activates secondary, with them displaying that number.
Instead, its just a filler-taunt that is basic asf and surely was just added to the workshop in hopes of getting a free in-game unusual on the maker's account.
1 out of 4.
Things are looking grim.
I agree with the suggestion to introduce some variations to this as @Can-Tank! has suggested ... BUT... keep it in moderation. No dumb baloonicorns - an X is infinitely better.
Soldier suffers from PTSD and is erratic so his drawing could be very rough - spikey even (esp. if you use an X for that). Neglect the comic fanfiction though.
Overall I'd be glad to have this in game and I'd actually use it.
For suggestions:
Pyro is barely mentally aware of his surroundings so the perfect 0 feels really off, maybe a ballonicorn or X? Also maybe he should burn his score?
Soldier is really dumb, maybe a crude drawing, wrong number, or a horribly drawn 0.
Demoman should definitely have messier, scribbled lines or an unfinished zero.
As missed potential, someone should have ripped their score in half, probably Heavy.
TLDR, sounds like a you problem.
I see what you're doing and what the taunt is trying to do, don't know how times I gotta repeat that. it's not about visibility, it’s about how the mercs interact with their world. The game leans into exaggerated action, not formal judging panels, so this kind of prop feels out of place. Have the mercs gesture a 0, A thumbs down at that point. tells the story (not literally but you get the idea.) Although I say this nicely, Hope it doesn't get added it.
If you can name some taunts that have props that hide/unhide in a way that you like I'd like to hear it! Visibility and in-game responsiveness are the most important aspects of a taunt. No one using this taunt would care about how the character gets out the card, all that matters is the person they killed sees the "0" in time for the killcam, and that they can get back to playing as soon as possible. There's no point in wasting an extra second or so to explain how the prop spawns in.
also don't pretend like you'd have been fine with a thumbs down taunt, bet if there was one there'd complaining about it being "another emote, not a taunt etc etc"
(Unless someone else else has made one already....)
