at least now there's only a badly optimized game
That said, these days it's just one more way in which the game bakes in assumptions about develoopment patterns and applies them to non-humans. Also, less fun. So this is a good idea in a mod.
And *that* said, I'm pretty sure that one of the several more general romance fix mods includes this feature, but it's not the one I've ended up using this year.
