You need to unlock the 8th and 9th officer.
The same way you unlock the 6th and 7th officer.
This mod increases only the maximum number of officers and crew and does not change how you get more.
i saw you would like to
do i slot mod.
That other slot mod didnt work
that great for me.
If you ever get a slot mod on the workshop
ill try it
But this mod is about crews and officers and not storage slots.
my 88m gun i can use 30 shells thats it.
is that right?
what is it if the slots are working right in game?
i looked into slots and torpedos and the script cannot work because the author comment out part of the script. You can fix it yourself by deleting this (/* Debug.Log("Start port torpedoes");) on line 173 inside the Slots and Torpedos.cs modfolder/source.
Using the same script for my own mod from Cironian. Sadly i cannot publish it as long as cironian dont replay to my request using part of his code.
So to answer your question, yes i can make such a mod but im not allowed to share it
But to help with your problem, just add another officer by changing the mod yourself. Just add to the Sandbox.xlsx inside the Modfolder/Data Sheets the limit to 9.
But remember the limited bunk space even for officers. Your people need to sleep and rest while injured. You dont need an officer for exmaple all the time on watch. The crew, if assigned, will also be on deck to watch.
What i do is, 1 captain, 1 1WO, 1 2WO, 1 navigator, 1 engineer (LI), 1 engine officer, 1 torpedoman, 2 radiomen. Captain, navigator and torpedoman have special shifts the other are split into 2 shifts and i always got one WO on watch, one radiomen on radio and one on the engines. Shifts are overlapping to prevent stations unmanned.
But i understand your problem, since the game mixes NCO's with commissioned officers and thats why the vanila limit is unbalanced. Other similiar games did the crew management part way better.
Can you increase the number of officers to 10?
For a more immersive game and more realistic crew management, I simply must have exactly 10 officers. That is, when I am resting or walking around my submarine, I want to be sure that my "sea watch" is on duty (as is historically true), in three shifts with three "WO" (3 leaders), for example (1st WO is the senior mate, 2nd WO is the watch officer, 3rd WO is the chief boatswain). Also, the "engine watch" (two senior engineers) is on duty in two shifts. Torpedo operators (2 engineers) alternately replace each other, loading torpedoes and servicing them. Well, I also need two radio operators who alternately deal with, for example, acoustics and transmitting messages. And together with me there are exactly 10 officers.
Sorry for such a long digression.
Thank you.
