Thanks for prompt response @ManeuverWarfare. I think what we're experiencing is a lot of other mods (at least ones I use for Chinese ships) made their versions of SAMs ARH when they're semi-active IRL. So HQ-16s would be always intercepting any sort of target at ridiculous range meanwhile HQ-9Bs had restricted range against target.(and another guys HQ-9s were ARH in game) I also had a weird thing where I tested US SM system since they're renown for being semi-active - base game systems worked fine - some mod authors had them as semi-active or 'none' for guidnance and sometimes it worked as game dynamics said it should and sometimes it had max range always. YMMV. Just leaving this here for anyone else confused as a few of us were

Hey @Stinger it has to do with how the game models the curvature of the earth. For SARH missiles, range changes with target altitude since missiles have to be guided by a fire control radar limited by the curvature. With ARH, it does not have this limitation.

Yeah at 10,000 ft F-14 target it seems to have normal range, lower it shrinks and if it’s 100 it’s such a small engagement radius. At 3000 it’s a little bigger but still small so prob explains why I got different distances per altitude. This is kinda problematic tho not a big fan

Did a test in editor looks like targets at a certain low altitude get reduced range like F-14s at 50m shrinks to 70ish nmi from the max 135. The guy who did the mod with Constellation Red Arsenal or smth has his own HQ-9 but doesn’t have this glitch. His missile also has ARH and its flight profile sends it up very high and then descends on targets

@Heart @ManeuverWarfare I have same problem. It looks to me that HQ9B when actually targeting air assets shrinks range to like 20 nmi. No idea why. It does this against all missiles like sea skimming harpoons, tomahawks, I even tested it by targeting some friendly planes and it had the low range. I feel like the biggest mod overwriting weapon behavior would be NTU. Don’t have PELT installed.

Yes, the missile is the AGM-84D launched from the F/A-18. When intercepted by the HQ-9B system on the Type 055 destroyer in your mod, the missile’s range is significantly reduced. This is a unique effect not seen in other mods.

Why has the HQ-9B's maximum engagement range decreased from 135 nautical miles to under 45 nautical miles?Is that reasonable or just a bug?

whenever I try loading the ship in, 3 stand-in radomes appear on top of it and it immediately sinks, any fix or is this a bug?

Probably not, YJ-21s attack on a ballistic trajectory while no missile I know of can do this in vanilla so the functionality is not there.

Hello author,
The 055 carrier helicopters are Z-20 and Z-9, maybe you can directly apply the SH-60 model;

The anti-ship missiles used in the 055 are YJ-21 and YJ18, the former is an anti-ship ballistic missile with a range of 1,500 km, and the latter is a "two-speed" anti-ship missile with a range of 300km (flying at high subsonic speed for most of the time after launch, and then sprinting at Mach 2.5 ~ 3 when approaching the target).

The missiles for air defense operations mainly include HHQ-9B and HHQ16B. In addition, it will be equipped with medium and short range ship-to-air missiles developed from the DK-10 missile (four bullets in one pit, similar to the United States MK41 vertical fire).

Awesome!! I've been waiting for such a ship to be added! This is great, but there are a couple things I noticed that were wrong:

1. The Description of the weapons are wrong, the HHQ-10 is not at all based on the RIM-116 missile,its a short range surface-to-air missile designed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), currently in service as a point defense missile system aboard PLA Navy warships.

2. The gun of the ship 130mm is the H/PJ-38 130mm Naval Gun while the CIWS is the H/PJ-11 CIWS (for name corrections)

3. The torpedoes are Yu-7's Yu-7 is a 324mm caliber torpedo based on the U.S. Mk 46 design
with a range of 10~15km that travels at a speed of ~43-50 knots

Overall great mod! you nailed it! just needing some minor corrections! :steamhappy:

need fix:
1.When Type 055 destroyer against sea-skimming missiles, the HQ-16 consistently fires and depletes its inventory prior to the HQ-9, which contradicts real-world operational logic.
2. When Type 055 destroyer against sea-skimming missiles, it will launching the first interceptor batch at approximately 25nm. After that it only fires subsequent missiles at single-round intervals, initiating mass salvos solely during terminal-phase interception.

Awesome and bravo work. That's the most powerful mod I haven't seen it before. You actually rebuild and shows the truly capacities of Type 055 , Thanks and I expect for your update! If the texture and mapping and also include the model precision can be improved, that will be the most popular mod in Workshop, especially in our Chinese military fans! :steamthumbsup:
