If you want bullet spread to still work try an older version of the addon that i edited slightly, see what you think:

You must disable penetration in most weapon bases and it won't work with hl2 weapons though.

I would love feedback on any bugs and i will try fix em.

bullet spread is a worthy sacrifice to not want to pull my hair out where nothing is hitting.

optimization depending on the addons installed. Just tried Clientside Hitreg and it's a gamble of working properly or not in TTT2 with custom playermodels.

Why are you talking about optimization in description when "Clientside Hitreg" addon have same performance while being more accurate without any downgrade?

Interesting project, surely its nice to see its being open source since many weapon bases has their own hit registration system. This could be used as a base plugin to work around with other weapon bases. Would require a great lot of work though.

but on the other hand, it's open source! If you encounter any addon this isn't compatible with, you can be proactive and work on a fix, for the communication - by the community :)

for some reason, this addon stops "Bullets Hurt Armored NPCs" (by Zippy) from working *for VJ Base NPCs* -- players and vanilla NPCs can kill striders with bullets but VJ Base NPCs can't do the same


idk if this info helps but i also have the same issue with "[Retail-Like] API" (by filz0)

Your old client side hit reg from the gmod store worked the best. People said it had fake hits and yeah I found if you shot in any direction about one second after you previously got a hit you'd get a fake hit but if you remove the "return" from your "local function bulletCallback" it fixed it. Not come across any other instances of incorrectly detected hits after that and EVERY single hit where you see blood is always a hit.

You should bring that one to the workshop too!

Depends on their implementation. If they create a legit entity for the bullet, propel it and check whether it hit something then no. If they only have a visual representation of a physical bullet and still end up relying on source engines bullet system for firing it, then yes

Indeed. The function was desired to be used as check to prevent nospread cheats by validating whether spread wasn't added to the shot on the serverside. However, as so far I haven't found a universal way of fetching the spread for spread packs it has been left empty

it does say players, so will there be npcs too or is that impossible?
cuz many dont got friends so they fight npc battles, though when they shoot, the same issue such as constantly seeing blood splatters without doing any actual damage persist

It does not work properly with NPCs. Sometimes, when you shoot directly at an NPC in long ranges, the hit won’t register even though the crosshair is at them.

From my own experience with this addon, it has caused more issues than fix any. Best way to fix is to trust the client fully and not use this system.
