"If you could make it so that you still had to feed the baby animals manually in the sandbox option. Some people prefer the grind in that way but still being able to feed the babies the milk from another mother would def be handy."
Just don't put food for the baby animals in the feeder )

I didn't know that. Was driving around, found a herd and managed to catch one fawn and brought it home :I
Update the modification and save the calves!
So lets just forget about it :)
It says that animals can only eat the corrosponding food from there respective mothers, so pigs and rabbits not being able to eat that might have made me think that thats the problem with the mod.
This was fixed in the current update.
Excuse me, if this caused you disappointment.
- Fixed the impossibility of creating food for a calf or lamb animal, if there was already some kind of liquid in the bucket, although in fact it was empty.
- Added check: If the container (bowl/bucket) which is used to create food is not empty, it cannot be used to create food. This will help to avoid loss of valuable contents of these containers.
