Landable Gas Giants 2

@Omega68nova I'm pretty sure FU is what adds the refined mech fuel, I encountered the same issue earlier as kennya;waysdoes1, and I don't have any other mods that add liquids

I wish there were a mod like this except it had ruined floating cities (like cloud city) instead of land
Omega68nova  [author] 31 May @ 3:32am
@kennyalwaysdies1 sounds like a fluid ID incompatibility, whichever mod added refined fuel is probably overriding the ID in landable gas giants.
kennyalwaysdies1 31 May @ 3:14am
gas giants spawn with oceans of refined fuel for some reason. is this intentional?
Omega68nova  [author] 17 May @ 3:20am
@horseyzero they are incompatible in the sense that they both replace the same generation (vanilla gas giants), you could maybe try using the V1 no gen version I made a while ago along with this. There might be some incompatiblities still, but they both use different namespaces on most data so that might work? Backup your galaxy before testing it tho.
horseyzero 16 May @ 9:57am
Are there plans to make this compatible with the first version somehow??? I use the first version and I really want to use this one but I'm pretty sure uninstalling the first one would break my universe
Omega68nova  [author] 12 May @ 10:47pm
@Rebta pretty sure it's not my mod, as I haven't updated it in ages and nobody else complained, also cant check anything without logs.
Rebta 12 May @ 12:59pm
You messed up a variable that tries to turn to a string from a "null" and my cpp don't like it :(
Omega68nova  [author] 9 May @ 4:30am
@TMBCyberman the meme dealer It doesn't NEED it, but the backgrounds won't change and thus you might never be able a few of the biome's backgrounds.
TMBCyberman the meme dealer 9 May @ 12:18am
So can it run without Parallax Transition or does it need it?
lechkingofdead 24 Apr @ 3:39pm
oh nice did not know sense i dont have a whole ton of intrest in mods.
Omega68nova  [author] 24 Apr @ 10:58am
@lechkingofdead starbound comes with an exe in it's win32 that allows you to extract mod .pak files into full mods and back, it's called asset_unpacker.exe and you use the command line to use it like so (in the starbound folder with the pak on that very folder): :/win32/assetUnpacker.exe "file.pak" "folderToExtractFilesInto"
lechkingofdead 23 Apr @ 1:01pm
well unless theres a simple code tool i can snag for free to make a local edit of that mod. but i think the colored items mod is silent dead is awol i wonder how hard it is to just remove the fluids ammonia or just make it differant. i made notice of this on the mod last night as well and dont think they doing starbound mods anymore so just ripping it code wise just to fix the ammonia is proably fine
Omega68nova  [author] 22 Apr @ 11:09pm
@lechkingofdead as I said previously, can't change mod ids for this mod as it'd break every single world made with it, should be far easier to change the mod id for "Avali Colored items" as I am pretty sure that mod doesn't generate any ammonia in worlds and won't break anything when changed.
lechkingofdead 22 Apr @ 7:26pm
SOO i found a structure at the center of the giant sitting in a sea of ercheus and it reminds me of an illitor can minus being on legs.
lechkingofdead 22 Apr @ 7:07pm
idk if it was altered or not but i have ran into the sea of amonia as well. but so far only the top layer had it as background filler the void between the layers so far has been fine. ok nope once i really got into the next layer it was more amonia. you may HAVE to change the mods ids. idk if theres a safe way around it sense pregened are the same and thus forever cursed. (untill universe is deleted)
Omega68nova  [author] 22 Apr @ 3:58am
@Shadocat Sounds like it is some id conflict in fluids, yes, but sadly I can't fix that without breaking already generated planets for everyone using the mod. Maybe try unsubscribing and resubscribing to this mod?
Shadocat 21 Apr @ 5:58am
if you have "Avali Coloured Items" installed, all the gas giant planets will have liquid ammonia seas on each layer as you go down. not sure if this is a weird bug or some tile-id stuff, but i wanted to point that out incase anyone hasn't yet.
Omega68nova  [author] 18 Apr @ 10:42am
@LiverFox personally recommend using mechs since the enemies in the depths drop mech energy, you will need a strong one tho. Recommend the "enable mech flight on planets" mod.
LiverFox 17 Apr @ 7:44am
@Omega68nova yeah I died immediately and decided I’ll come back with an attack craft from another mod later.
Borealis 17 Apr @ 7:24am
alright, thanks!
Omega68nova  [author] 17 Apr @ 12:32am
@Freian Of Void yes
Borealis 16 Apr @ 5:13pm
thanks! Just asking, is it available in the Terraforge?
Omega68nova  [author] 16 Apr @ 2:01pm
@Freian Of Void Done.
@LiverFox Nice, because there is indeed very dangerous things in their depths. :)
Borealis 16 Apr @ 8:10am
I know of the limitations of terraformers, but could we get terraformers? I wanted to replace the tileset and paralax of other gas giants, OR even M32's shattered planets
LiverFox 7 Apr @ 6:09pm
I just landed on my first dark gas giant (like picture 9) and was genuinely uncomfortable. Great work! Everything in me was saying, “we shouldn’t be here. We need to leave.”
Omega68nova  [author] 4 Apr @ 2:02am
@Kinsect only newly generated vanilla ones, FU landable ones for example aren't affected. About the icon, it's not necessary, but I think it still replaces the "unterraformed" variant's icon.
Kinsect 3 Apr @ 5:18pm
Does this replace all gas giants (on a new galaxy/character)
and if so do we need Gas Giant Icon Fix? ^^;;
Omega68nova  [author] 1 Apr @ 2:14am
@Toki you need to go into new chunks of the universe, the already generated gas giants wont work.
Toki 1 Apr @ 12:33am
I cant land on them or even circle them so I'll have to try this mod again later. It might also be the cause of npcs breaking for me idk
Alex808 16 Mar @ 10:13pm
bruh
Alex808 16 Mar @ 10:13pm
ok do yo
u have an e for gas giants
Omega68nova  [author] 26 Feb @ 12:49pm
@JolleyTS13 if you mean if you need Landable Gas Giants 1 to play this, then no, in fact they are incompatible. Else idk what you mean.
JolleyTS13 26 Feb @ 8:51am
do i need one?
Ewok116 11 Feb @ 6:01am
it def has some ncompatibilities would think it is better gas giants that changes the satelite spawn rate to 90%
Ewok116 10 Feb @ 12:53pm
very nice keep up the good work
Tuxflop 8 Feb @ 9:37pm
Oh, this looks really cool. I like seeing some more of this kind of fantasy stuff for Starbound, it reminds me of the vibe of some of the really old promo art from the dev blog.
Jean1337_ 8 Feb @ 6:07pm
Awesome!!!!! Take a prize.
Omega68nova  [author] 7 Feb @ 3:42pm
@ABlueHairedFox Well, that was easier than I thought! Added colors to gas giants, depending on the type too so each one has a different color, including the vanilla colors. Now each gas giant type has different horizon and sky appeareances, including appeareances similar to the vanilla ones, if slightly different.
Omega68nova  [author] 7 Feb @ 11:00am
@ABlueHairedFox nope, but I guess I could look into it.
ABlueHairedFox 7 Feb @ 10:33am
An issue I had with the previous version was that the landable gas giants all had the same color unlike the vanilla unlandable ones. Does this version fix that?
