yeah, i do have rgon, it worked perfectly fine, its such a fine addittion really, i played it for a while with it now, i can't say the game was better back then, just really likes this mod

@Waillie15 I can't guarantee that the mod will work with every blind resprite mod due to the way it checks for blind items (though this is not a limitation if you have RGON), but I do believe it's compatible with the specific mod you're referring to.

Enjoy!

man, this mod seems amazing, i really hope it works with the "fuck you" blind symbol resprite mod, thanks to everyone involved for fixing isaac

@Rock Bottom there should be a prompt on the bottom of the screen at the start of a new run, but the default keybind is C or F1 on keyboard, and Left Stick Click on controller
Rock Bottom 21 Feb @ 4:26pm
how do i configure it/what is the keybind

Yeah,I really don't like things killing the fun of potential possibility and randomness. And it would be great if this mod improve some details like keep it revealed on the active item I just swapped or those quest items.

@Lucky glad to hear you're enjoying it! As someone who really does not like Curse of the Blind, one of the most surprising things I discovered while testing this mod is that I started to find the curse to be really exciting rather than a total buzzkill. Lots of reroll-focused items no longer become useless, and going Alt-Path is actually a lot more advantageous since the 2nd blind pedestal gives you a much more informed choice (assuming you have it enabled). My goal with this mod was to rework things so that even an all-blind run would still be fun to play, and I'm pretty proud with the result. It's awesome to see others having a good time with it too!

This mod makes the 4-room-charge d6 from Reverie Mod a really good item,I love it.

@majorinconvenience bro literally can't open repentogon GitHub, but spends time crying in random mod comments lmao, there's commits literally every day to it. Stop shitting your pants in public

bastante bien y divertido:senpai:

Just wanted to let you all know I finally managed to include EID support, so you should be able to see a list of all the hint items for each pedestal if you have EID installed, similar to items with Glitched Crown or Spindown. This can be disabled using DSS or ImGui if you want.

Speaking of spindown, my system for decrementing item hints was apparently broken, but I managed to fix it with this last update. Sorry to anyone who had problems with it.

As always, if you have any issues please let me know in the Bug Reports thread.
Thank you all for enjoying the mod, and thanks a ton for getting this to nearly 4,000 downloads!

@majorconvenience I wouldn't say it's dead. I can't say how long it'll take for them to add Rep+ compatibility, but even then RGON provides so many tools to modders to do things that would be way more of a headache without it that I think there's always gonna be decent interest in using it. As soon as it's compatible, I'm sure a lot of people are gonna go back to it.

kinda sad how less than a year into repentogon's life it basically got killed off
like
it seriously seemed like the future of isaac modding

Now this curse activates our gambling adiction. Wowers!!! :dip:

good

This is 100% what the Curse should be. Rather than potentially being a run ruiner, it should be a risk you can take.
GaussTheWizard 12 Feb @ 11:45am
This is what I've always wanted Curse of the Blind to be
Stary_Kartofel 12 Feb @ 8:21am
This is incredible; my main problem with curse of the blind was that it could ruin your entire run. There are many run-ruining item combos like dr fetus with bomber boy or scatter bombs, or both, and getting these shoved into your face because of curse of the blind sucks so much because what? You expect me to NOT take a blind secret room item just because there's a tiny chance it COULD be tmtrainer or missing no? With this mod you still don't know what you'll get, but at least you can get a guarantee that your entire run won't be screwed. So yeah, banger mod, they should add this to the base game, take my points, love it

@Benny Thanks for checking out the mod! And I should really be thanking you, no way I would have been able to make this happen without your save manager, let alone a V2!
Enjoy the mod!
Benny 11 Feb @ 12:50pm
Awesome to see a v2 of this! Thank you again for your past cooperation that helped improve the pickup data of the save maanger

looks cool, nice mod :GDNormal:

Love this mod, ty so much for making it
ChrisSor54  [author] 10 Feb @ 8:15pm
Sorry for the flood of updates guys, there's a lot of complex logic involved in generating the item hints and it can be hard to stay on top of all the specific edge cases. I've been working on squashing bugs wherever and whenever possible, but it can be tricky to be sure I've got everything before each update.
shr1mpz 10 Feb @ 7:26pm
should be in the game by default honestly
Nuts) 9 Feb @ 6:19am
Awwww yissss, thanx bud!
ChrisSor54  [author] 7 Feb @ 1:31pm
@Nuts) I've updated the mod to not overwrite the question mark sprite, so mods that replace or modify it should be compatible now. A word of warning though, without REPENTOGON, the mod uses texel matching to check if items are blind, so not all replacement mods may be compatible. I did test the one you requested though, and I can confirm it works

Add f*ck you option along with the question mark for the love of god

@ChrisSor54 The way i always saw it is that often times players have no choice but to simply take the blind items they are presented with and pray it doesn't mess with their build because as the difficulty of the game ramps up you typically really can't afford to miss out on any items especially when going for harder unlocks with some of the more challenging characters.

To me this essentially just introduced arbitrary difficulty to the game and really discouraged some of the skill expression the game had to offer since players also cannot do much in the way of manipulating or min maxing their item drops via rerolls etc when they don't know what they are rolling for in the first place.

Your mod creates the perfect middle ground and actually adds some consideration to the choice of picking up a blind item.
ChrisSor54  [author] 7 Feb @ 7:29am
@KuroCeros Thanks so much! It's definitely the curse I enjoy the least, since the safest thing to do is usually to just not pick up any items, and item pools can be so big with so much variety that it can be impossible to make any sort of educated guess as to what you might get. I think this made more sense with the wacky randomness that was more central to Rebirth and Afterbirth, but Repentance added a lot of things that change things to be more skill-oriented, so I've always felt like the unpredictable randomness with Curse of the Blind (and its capability to ruin runs) doesn't mesh too well with the challenge characters and harder unlocks.

My goal with this mod was to remedy that by giving the player more information to take an informed gamble, while still keeping the suspense of risking it all on a blind curse room item.

Glad you're enjoying it!
KuroCeros 7 Feb @ 7:09am
Really cool idea for a mod and honestly a great rebalance for the most overbearing curse in the game.
EvOvv 7 Feb @ 6:40am
I really like this mod, allows even rerolls to be somewhat useful during cotb
ChrisSor54  [author] 7 Feb @ 5:28am
Thanks everyone so much for their feedback on the original mod! The reworked code structure of this overhaul is a lot more flexible than the previous one, so please let me know if there are any features you'd like to see. Thank you!
