The notification in the launcher about the wrong version doesn't mean anything!

solution to HBO cock blocking: go to files, copy, mod, make folder called "Just in Case' or whatever, put in folder, when mod gets taken out, take the mod out of the folder and then simply paste it back into mod folder, easy
