good mod, I love gold
Schizophrenic Cat-Lon  [author] 13 May @ 11:52pm
Unfortunately, that problem isn't something I can patch.

Some of the gold ores (especially near obedience) are unreachable without cheating. Love the mod and the idea
Schizophrenic Cat-Lon  [author] 21 Apr @ 2:53pm
Huh... I forgot that single faction. I'll look into it tonight.
DiscoDream 21 Apr @ 1:42pm
I've seen gold caravans go into towns and immediately get merc'ed by bounty hunters who attack them on sight. Maybe a default of +50 relations to every 'civilized' faction would fix them being slaughtered?
Schizophrenic Cat-Lon  [author] 17 Apr @ 10:25pm
Nope, unfortunately since it's an item and not a hanging object like a lamp, it can't have a worn mesh.
It'd have to be a standalone armor variant, and I lack the time for that rn.
can your characters use the jewelry? belt slot bling bling ? :)
Schizophrenic Cat-Lon  [author] 27 Mar @ 11:32am
And that, it does (especially when you got 5 hivers in mass production mode)

The official Kenshi X has given this mod of the week, nice! https://x.com/KenshiOfficial/status/1904594925900931187

thanks for replying, good to know :>
Schizophrenic Cat-Lon  [author] 25 Feb @ 1:16pm
Nope, they exist solely to be robbed.
銀河魚 24 Feb @ 9:36pm
does the faction of gold have a base of operations or nah?
MGJ Sakazaki 18 Feb @ 7:15pm
The Lore already says that iron became the new gold, gold now is basically useless. But any new mod is always a good thing. Nice mod, it adds variety. ^^

i used to wonder years ago why no one never had something like this , now we know why, can't decide if i wanna give this a try but i just finally got a stable card-house load order, but im reallly temped, lol nice
Torkkar 15 Feb @ 4:43am
ok I figured there was something up because i didn't see any thing related to panning, sucks about the game engine limitations though, you'd think a solo dev would have a fully open devkit to make modding easier lol
Schizophrenic Cat-Lon  [author] 15 Feb @ 1:48am
NVM you were right, I forgot to import the gold panning research into the default research, so it was effectively disabled.
It has now been patched back in.
Schizophrenic Cat-Lon  [author] 14 Feb @ 10:26pm
Due to FCS limitations, gold cannot be assigned as a new resource in the same way as iron and copper.
The only way to have it implemented is very much to have it be the way I did it- ores in set biomes of the same value, and panning to allow for it to be gotten anywhere.
As there can be no "true" set resource values, drills can never work for gold. An unfortunate limitation of the engine.
Torkkar 14 Feb @ 6:31pm
so after trying this mod I note 2 things missing 1 Gold Extractors imported into an ongoing Tech 5 Save & there's not even a Manuel Ore Drill Let alone an autonomous one, 2 is Gold in the Prospecting System. other than this the mod works well but it needs these 2 items to be complete even if the Autonomous Gold mining/Refining is a Tech 6 knowledge.

OK! Thank you very much!!! I came to consult because I didn't want to import it. If I needed to import it, I decided not to experience this MOD. Now it seems that I can experience it well~~ I like golden things~~~
Schizophrenic Cat-Lon  [author] 13 Feb @ 10:51pm
I assume that the nodes will still spawn, but if they don't, you can still do gold panning instead.
Schizophrenic Cat-Lon  [author] 13 Feb @ 10:50pm
Need to? No.
death14death14 13 Feb @ 4:22am
Do I need to import this mod?
@Schizophrenic Cat-Lon
Schizophrenic Cat-Lon  [author] 12 Feb @ 2:30pm
I would assume not, but if you don't see gold nodes around in their spawn locations, then you should.
death14death14 12 Feb @ 8:01am
Great creator, do I need to import this MOD?
@Schizophrenic Cat-Lon
GREAT
MOD
YOU SHOULD DOWNLOAD

Yeah the NPC functions are pretty limited, which is why my quest mod I made is mostly just reactive based on which item you received at X point in the quest.

It does make it pretty challenging, but it's kind of a fun puzzle to solve to make a somewhat interesting quest line lol.

Thanks for the mod, I'll definitely check it out! Great job bro with all of your mods :2017stickycrab:
Schizophrenic Cat-Lon  [author] 9 Feb @ 10:45pm
Alright, so the patch did indeed go through, you just need to close Kenshi for the download to start up.
Schizophrenic Cat-Lon  [author] 9 Feb @ 10:42pm
I would assume that it works with overhaul mods, since it just adds gold nodes to biomes without changing anything else.

Also, @Iriemk I WAS considering adding another mod as an "addition" to this one / CID for precious gems. Mine them, throw them in a rock tumbler, use them to make different kinds of jewelry with different values as per gem rareness.
As for quests relating to items like that, all NPCs can really do is react to object, and unfortunately not take them. Really does limit a lot of things, and CID has that same issue with the research facility.

I will certainly check again to see if the gold nugget storage wasn't fixed (and fix it if it wasn't)

@Schizophrenic Cat-Lon

Do you know if this works with UWE? if so, this would be a great addition for the Roleplay Collection :cactusrum::beeped:

Great job on your mod by the way, and congratulations on the front page! :2017stickycrab:
Dr. Igor Dolvich 9 Feb @ 9:20pm
@Iriemk

Great idea, it is kinda tricky to make quests like that, but it can be done with some imagination lol (you have to do some tricks behind the scenes, typical game dev style).
iriemk 9 Feb @ 1:58pm
One little issue I detected (for future updates): Nugget Storage is still set to Raw Gold and accordingly won't work if not fixed in FCS. No biggie.

And a plea: Expand on this! There was a "Treasure Hunter mod" for the old Fallout New Vegas, probably the one mod I enjoyed most in all games I ever modded. Had gem mines, gold mines, silver mines, but also had a quest with a multi-part map you had to collect before you got to a big hidden treasure stash and such.

Kenshi lacks something like that, and this would be the perfect base for such a Treasure Hunter mod.
Devonte 8 Feb @ 8:11pm
You're a legend, Golden Cowboy-Lon
iriemk 8 Feb @ 1:39pm
Awesome! Was pondering adding gem mines & such a while back, this saves me a whole lot of trouble. Thank you sooo much for making & sharing this one!
squidd 8 Feb @ 4:10am
very cool
