This is a pretty neat little touch I have wanted to see in PZ for some years.
Janek 25 May @ 11:08am
Have you by any chance looked into KYR [Real Weather] and its compatibility with this mod? ^^ I can imagine they'd fit really well together.
AstrayCuriosity 15 May @ 5:49am
Everyday you think that zomboid modmakers can't get any better and then this guy shows up
pottish 4 Apr @ 6:55pm
@skulldives i think its more intended for "zombies are only active during the night" to a literal extreme
skulldives 1 Apr @ 7:44am
danny wouldn't it be the opposite cause the sun would melt them plus it gets colder at night
danny_is_dude 26 Mar @ 3:42pm
Would it be possible to make them freeze during the day instead of when it gets cold? So they move during night and don't during the day?
Choko  [author] 26 Feb @ 6:17am
@Alfiebou I should! Let me know if I don't.
Alex Tremblay 24 Feb @ 4:16pm
Does it work on B41?
Choko  [author] 24 Feb @ 11:15am
@4trainpoet Sounds good to me! It's your game, it's not a problem for me and I'm just sharing what I do for my games. Since this happens every 50 zombies it's not a big problem for me, just a minor issue.
4trainpoet 24 Feb @ 5:16am
That's fine, honestly it's not a big deal but it looks goofy when they are stuck on the fences. The unkillable floor zombies OldBeard mentioned is a bigger problem, I had to remove the mod for that reason unfortunately
Choko  [author] 23 Feb @ 7:02am
@4tranpoet Hi there! Do you mean the error OldBeard mentioned? As I told him, it's an issue with the mechanics used, so maybe I can fix it or maybe I need to find another mechanic to implement. For now, I'm okay with this one. Regarding the fences, I noticed they did that when they were in a particular state in the mechanics idle, but I thought it didn't happen with these new animations. I'll take a look, though I don't promise much since it involves modifying base game animations, and the transition might not feel smooth. I'll check it out! Thanks for letting me know
4trainpoet 23 Feb @ 2:40am
I also encountered that bug, I will test and see if it is fixed. Another small issue: zombies seem to freeze when they climb over fences, etc.

It's possible that it's just for me and it's a mod conflict but thought I would mention it.

New update is amazing :)
Salty Oreos 23 Feb @ 12:07am
:beeped: good to see it's working
Choko  [author] 22 Feb @ 1:22pm
@Orcodstra @ailement @Leex @Powietrze TY so much!! i am happy you like this mod! new update today in a minute!
@ Sua mãe na foto ao lado 2 With today's update, I hope it fixes.
@OldBeard I'm aware of it! Thanks for pointing it out, it always helps to try to fix errors that I overlook. It's a matter of the angle at which the walker is hit, which affects it. The thing is that it uses an inactive state and I have to force it with a command to make it unusable again, because otherwise it has a kind of bug. I'll try to fix it over time, but I don't promise anything!
@Vse Prosto You must be doing something wrong, in the options menu it appears as '[B42] Zombies Congelados' I haven't fixed that error yet, sorry if this caused confusion
OldBeard 21 Feb @ 5:07pm
Hi. I've noticed an very minor issue that sometime happens with some frozen zombie that felt on the ground. Sometime the kill splash sound plays, but the zombie is still "waging" (not sure of the word) on the floor and i can't attack it further.
Quitting to main menu and reloading "revives" the zombie but now it can be properly killed this time.
I've tested on a fresh save with no other mods enabled and the issue happens maybe every 15-20 zombies, sometimes in a row.
Can't say i have encountered a similar problem in vanilla nor with your mod activated and during warm periods.
Not sure what i can provide to help (the mod is completely playable despite this and it's a great mod)

Olá, este mod n funciona na b41
Vse Prosto 19 Feb @ 5:51am
Powietrze 18 Feb @ 12:23pm
wow Choko nice job
Choko  [author] 18 Feb @ 12:18pm
Vse Prosto 18 Feb @ 11:41am
mod no funciona no aparece en mods
Leex 18 Feb @ 2:21am
@Choko awesome, like i said, love the idea.
ailement 17 Feb @ 10:12pm
i completely agree with Datdoi, I would absolutely love if you included such features
Orcodstra 17 Feb @ 7:37pm
Great work Choko, you're a credit to the community.
Choko  [author] 17 Feb @ 6:29pm
@Datboi Hi! That's exactly what I've been trying to do for a few days now, I haven't been able to resolve it yet, but if I do, I'll add it!
Datboi 17 Feb @ 6:09pm
Hey, this mod would work amazing with cryogenic winter, some suggestions though. It would be nice to have an option to have someones slow down significantly instead of completely freezing, and another option for partial freezing so zombies cannot chase you but if you were to get too close to a freezing zombie then they can take a few steps and try to reach for you.
Choko  [author] 17 Feb @ 4:37pm
@poppajulietwhiskey Hi! only the °C you choose and the time it takes matter.
poppajulietwhiskey 17 Feb @ 3:45pm
Does windchill factor effect the freezing points of the zombies?

Also, cool mod.
Choko  [author] 17 Feb @ 12:24pm
@NivJake Okay, I think it's now available for both versions. Try it out and let me know if it's working. You need to enable it in the mod menu and in the server settings for it to take effect
TR 17 Feb @ 11:49am
Choko  [author] 17 Feb @ 8:30am
@Arthur No! It does not affect the weather seasons. Winter settings depend on your vanilla game options
Arthur 17 Feb @ 7:27am
does it make the world winter forever or no?
Choko  [author] 17 Feb @ 6:51am
Choko  [author] 17 Feb @ 6:27am
@Leex Hi! As I mentioned earlier, and as I clarify, "@Iheartmeth". Something that pumps is needed to keep us warm. Deer can survive -30°C temperatures because they have protective fur and fat. Cattle can withstand around -10°C, and then there are pigs, rabbits, and rats, which wouldn't even tolerate the game's normal low temperatures. However, in real life, these animals could seek shelter from the cold, unlike zombies, which wouldn't seek survival. This mod focuses solely on zombies and will remain that way; I have no intention of freezing animals
17 Feb @ 2:17am
buddy animals have cardiovascular systems and warm blood while zombies are animated organic matter
Leex 17 Feb @ 2:07am
how does this work with the addtion of animals. if zeds frozen in the wild, so would animals, right?
love the idea, but it would to affect zeds and animals
Choko  [author] 16 Feb @ 7:29pm
@NivJake Hi there! I haven't tried it.The mod architecture changed with build 42, so I don't think it'll be compatible, but you've got nothing to lose by trying.
NivJake 16 Feb @ 6:47pm
hi! iv just started getting into PZ and im wanting to learn the game and play on B41, is this mod compatible with 41 or only with the new unfinished 42 version (i dont know alot about how mods on this game works yet)
Choko  [author] 16 Feb @ 5:49pm
@Arkopa Hola!
Choko  [author] 16 Feb @ 1:03pm
@thugger I've tried it and yes, it's compatible. Although I think it's always better to start it in a new game, I didn't find any errors when adding it to an existing game.

@Lux Hi! basically, you can choose the temperature at which walkers freeze in the sandbox menu. By default, it's set to 0°C, and you can also choose how long this temperature must be maintained for the walkers to freeze. The default time is 30 minutes in the game.

@kps224 thanks!
thugger 16 Feb @ 12:02pm
is this save compatible?
kps224 16 Feb @ 11:25am
@Lux the description says it all
Lux 16 Feb @ 11:15am
how does it work like, when it's winter and conditions are that harsh they freeze or they are always frozen?
Ulas 15 Feb @ 9:21am
Choko  [author] 15 Feb @ 8:54am
In the comic, there's no logical reason for this to happen, but the walkers don't decompose like a regular body. I recall Kirkman mentioning something about it in his notes in the comics. They don't know what causes it, but it prevents the bodies from decomposing normally.
I'm sharing this context with you: In World Beyond, it's mentioned that the cause is the absence of anaerobic bacteria, which break down the organism from the inside out. Something similar happens in WWZ... So, we can say that their decomposition is actually well-reflected in the original unmodified game. The cold is because they retain very little blood, and without a heart pumping, they would freeze much faster than a living person

Dead people will rot
