Going through the SL_CL gate from the Shaded Citadel's side leads to Frigid Coast ending in the room B02Saint, it's disconnected from the other rooms. The Frigid Coast SH_SL Gate just freezes when it starts closing.
im glad you think so!! i really enjoy doing that, im glad this allows people to see a new way to play that REALLY changes the game.
PIPE JUKE NERF IS BROKEN?? WORST DAY OF MY LIFE /silly
i also hope i could- at least on some level- get the disability portion across, if that makes sense? its hard to survive and you dont have the same capabilities as your kind 'usually' would and no matter how much you want to be friends, theres always a roadblock that is out of your control. ect ect ect
that comment genuinely has made my day much better, been feeling like shit today and its SO awesome to see someone click with it all, yannow?
in all seriousness, i used no map and pipe juke nerf as recommended and it's been a pretty agreeable experience so far except for the part where i got stuck dying over and over in lower CC for two hours and could only escape by getting a lucky cycle and then starving repeatedly next to the karma gate until i managed to hibernate in HI
line of sight + no map is a surprisingly immersive way to play that really makes you feel like you're on the same level as the other creatures in the world, but pipe juke nerf's description says it's broken and i can't tell whether it's doing what it's supposed to do. either way, i feel like pipe juking is still less viable here since line of sight stops you from seeing creatures traveling through shortcuts within the room. overall unbelievably brutal due to how restrictive polecat's diet is (i'm fine with this) but a refreshing experience compared to how i usually play
idk where you went to never run into their "auto-food" but... yea theyre ALSO not meant to be reliable, and their respawn rate is an error on my end. in fact if it gave a "this world isnt meant for you" vibe- then good! genuinely, i am disabled, autistic, and mentally ill. every day is a struggle and a dice roll with a negative modifier on if itll suck complete ass or not. it looks as if you pretty much understood the assignment, because this wasnt supposed to be nice! (not mad, in fact i appreciate it)
reminder that this is built to cater to me . i have and had fun playing it which was the main goal. youre forced to adapt to MY general playstyle!
To me it means more cool campaigns
Spoilers for the mod (duh!)
Best parts about it:
It can eat leeches, as it's an actually unique mechanic, but it can only be utilized in the starting region. The spear density was modified from base Saint world-state to a more normal amount, which removes that frustration typically seen in Saint world-state campaigns. The ending gave me a good laugh.
Things I didn't like:
They have an incredibly random diet, getting 1/4 food from scavs, 1/2 from lizards, full food from jellyfish, 1 pip from leeches touching them, no food from centipedes, no food from hazers, and uh, that's about all I encountered (that could be eaten). Massacring \a large group of scavs for a meager food reward is a real pain.
Bad things about it:
Vultures were weirdly nonexistent, maybe I just had bad luck, but I only encountered one singular vulture on the journey to ascension. There were no other noticeable changes to creature spawns. Lizards were the only reliable source of food, and they were a pain in the butt to kill because the slugcat can maul, which means you tend to grab them while trying to stab em repeatedly. Since mauls do 1/3 damage to lizards (they take 1/3 damage from bite type damage), it was way more of a hindrance than anything else. Even better, the majority of edible creatures like scavs and (most) lizards leave after a relatively short amount of time due to the cold.
Perhaps if it wasn't in Saint world-state and wasn't able to maul, it would be enjoyable. As it is now, it's just difficulty for the sake of difficulty, while bringing next to nothing to the table to make it enjoyable.
my slugcats arent exactly known for being easy to play, lol.
Welp, rip my playstyle, the modcat is way too reliant on murdering lizards.
Oh well, it's not like that'll be an issue for other people.
I'll probably play it tomorrow how it's intended, for a more proper review, as there seems to be a bit more to discover.
@vynnyal HA glad you like it!! im fed up with people being preschool bully vibes to me and talking shit behind my back, so i wanted to make it clear where i stand :P
somebody called unbound a self insert w authors dream movement as if thatd be a bad thing or like, trying to be insulting i guess? so i was like... ferb i know what were gonna do today SNSKRKENMDKSNR
