well compare to MG42, M2 Stinger's fire rate is slightly the same as the MG42, but the gun is longer and maybe heavier than MG42

actually the base gun was AN/M2 .30 Cal. it looked exactly the same as the M1919 you usually see in movies and video games, but it was meant to made for use in Aircraft, and it shoots way faster than regular M1919. The M2 Browning you mentioned is the .50 Caliber one and its receiver is bigger
