kinda founded a pseudo type fix to make TFA shotguns feel stronger than TFA rifles, In zippys gore mod, Set bone health multiplier to really low like 0.05 and set dmg transfer convar to 0.1, Now TFA shotguns feel stronger because of the low bone health and assault rifles weaker because of the low dmg transfer, just one drawback and that is shooting a deadbody with an assault rifle and it will explode, Tho still better than blasting a head with a sawnoff pointblank and that head still intact

Yeah guys sorry, it doesn’t work with addons that may check the actual weapon you are using to boost damage and such- it checks the DMG type, so if it is typically shotgun damage it should be DMG_BUCKSHOT. It’s the most lightweight way to do it. As a note, this only boosts damage done to the corpse, not the actual npc.

CORRECTION:

noob's gore mod DOES NOT have a damage multiplier based on weapon damage types. Only Dismemberment Reconstruction does.

@multoghost Two things I want to say in response.

1. It only works with Zippy's Gore mod probably because of how their gore mod does not have any damage multipliers from weapon damages aside from explosives. I tested this with noob's gore mod and Dismemberment Reconstructed which both have their damage multipliers for weapon damages. This addon when using these said addons is effectively useless since it the gore addons' weapon damage calculation overrides this addon's most likely.

2. TFA's shotguns handles damage differently then the default shotgun, and I tested it with using an addon that displays damage numbers. How TFA's shotguns calculate damage is that they count each and every pellet that hits a target one at a time until each will have enough damage to kill it, and any remaining pellets not counted will just to no additional damage.
The Default Shotgun counts all pellets that hit the target and calculate the total damage at once.

(This makes me wish that there's a plug-in like addon for TFA sweeps that changes how shotguns handle with calculating damage similar to default hl2 shotgun.)

just tested it, they do work but not with tfa shotguns it only seems to work on standard hl2 weapons

Strong explosive weapons (such as SMG alt fire and rocket launcher) cause this error:

@giorgibob152 The code should not do that unless some sort of disarming mod is installed- can't replicate this myself. @Sergeant Doakes Same thing... my code does nothing to the PM at all, just damage hooks. @drohno I probably could in the future, yes.

this mod makes it so that if npc hits another npcs' gun it will disarm him and npc would be unable to pick that weapon up

@ djarvis2503 The whole function is to transfer damage from alive NPC to the NPC’s ragdoll on death- no effect to ragdolls otherwise.

i dont know why, but it doesn't work for me with the default npc, but it does work with customs (like zbase or half life resurgence)

It doesn’t require anything, it just won’t really do anything on its own. It works with any gore mod to my knowledge which I say in the description.
