Yes but when porting models you still gotta optimize.
I've had to crop textures and then redo UVs before because of unoptimized work by whoever originally made the model.

Also will note that when doing textures that have no alpha channel, you should use DXT1 as even if you don't use the alpha channel and use DXT5, it'll take up more space since it'll have one.

I didn't make this model, so please don't blame me for the size. I'll update the addon with a smaller size. 2k texture for eyes ? oh god...

there's a 1024x1024 texture that's just blue, and one that's just red. Several 512x512 textures that are solid colors aswell.

It's more cause these models are mostly solid colors. There's a 2k texture that's mostly just the color blue. And Source's compression means a solid color texture is the same filesize as a noisy texture of the same size.
