So, since installing the mod, I'm noticing that all the pickup trucks I find in the game, whether they're designated as dump trucks or not, are having their trunk capacity increased to the dump truck's capacity. Not that I'm complaining, I just figured that wasn't what you intended to happen.
Blessed Mother 26 Jul @ 12:29am
Cool idea. The truck needs work, though. When going fast and doing a turn, the body of the vehicle will hit the wheels, stopping the truck and damaging it (maybe my truck is just damaged to begin with?).

Hey Texasrut!
Do you think you could make a "trailer version" too? Would be awesome :)
Wilburt 4 May @ 7:11am
will this still spawn them if i have vanilla vehicle remover/replacer?

We need something like this for PZ :D

I was messing with this mod after getting an m113 stuck on the superweeds one too many time.
I think you should increase the road width from 2 to 4 to deal with the limitations due to Zomboids square grid.
It is nearly impossible to make a continuous road due to this.
Add to that the problem that currently the gravel is way off when driving in any of the cardinal directions on screen. (straight up/down/left/right) In these specific directions the gravel gets dumped next to the truck which might be due to some wonky vector math and normalization ?

Finally when it comes across an edge gravel tile while dumping gravel, it should probably make it a full tile. This currently seems to be a bit hit or miss which might be related to the square grid issue.

It still saves a ton of time over doing it manually but there's still a lot of manual fixing to do on the roads made.

Found it!

Skizot's Dump Truck for Filibuster Rhymes F700. It's a B42 version, but they probably have a B41 version as well.
panzerjohnny 30 Mar @ 1:17pm
While browsing the vehicle mods I came across a mod with a dump truck actually dumping the contents like in real life. No idea of the mod's name (dump truck? ) but the thumbnale was the dumptruck dumping. Hope that helps

Oh perfect! Thanks so much and good job!
Texasrut  [author] 29 Mar @ 5:58pm
Just uploaded a fix for the issue described below
Texasrut  [author] 28 Mar @ 7:42am
@DreezyMoto Hey I cleared a path in debug mode through the trees and had the same issue you did. It looks like my code isn't handling the wood laying on the ground very well. When I moved it all out of the way everything worked. I'll have to put in a fix. Thanks for the heads up!
DreezyMoto 27 Mar @ 7:17pm
I'm unsure how to post errors or even see what the errors say when they pop up in the lower-right. but yes i have gone slow, im clearing a path through a forest, seems to work fine if I use it on already-clear tiles, like roads and paths, but not when i try to go on a path i just cleared of trees
Texasrut  [author] 27 Mar @ 6:55am
@DreezyMoto Try slowing down when you are dumping gravel and see if that clears up your every-other-tile problem. If you drive too fast it will skip tiles since its meant to pour slowly. Also can you post the error you are seeing?
DreezyMoto 26 Mar @ 12:30am
its only laying gravel every other tile and i get errors each tile i pass over
WizardsMilk 24 Mar @ 8:07am
I am just getting a grid, nothing happens when i highlight anything.?
Goatroach 22 Mar @ 11:36pm
Looks like a job for KI5 to get us a proper dump truck model.
Do want.
Efrainx117xKill 16 Mar @ 11:23pm
I did tests and it is compatible 😅
Efrainx117xKill 16 Mar @ 6:51pm
This is compatible with No Vanilla Vehicles
Texasrut  [author] 16 Mar @ 4:29pm
@Philippe Resette I've just updated the vehicle distribution tables so dump trucks will spawn in the same place pickup trucks do. They will look just like pickup trucks but will be labeled as a "DumpTruck" when you open the hood.
Philippe Resette 8 Mar @ 8:31am
are the dump trucks spawning in specific locations? haven't found one yet

@Texasrut - I found a free 3D model of a cement mixer if you are interested. I added you

Texasrut  [author] 28 Feb @ 12:06pm
In my testing I am seeing erosion happen on the road. I need to confirm. However, I've found a way to disable erosion on a tile, and it only requires one extra line of code—I'll be including that soon if necessary!

I really appreciate everyone's comments! I wasn’t planning to leave this feature on the vanilla truck since you can't realistically dump gravel from an open-bed vehicle without tilting the bed—unless you have someone in the back pushing it out. That said, I’m open to finding a compromise.

Also, if anyone knows a modeler who’d be willing to create a dump truck model specifically for this mod, I'd love to hear from them!
Blessed Mother 28 Feb @ 11:05am
Very cool! Personally, I do not want to have a dependency for Filibuster's mod (just to reduce load times and any possible in-game bugs - I have had issues in B41 with Filibuster's mod glitching tiles), but if you write the script in such a way it will still work with the Vanilla truck, then that is great!
Primedew 28 Feb @ 9:32am
which cars can be used to build the road?
ENERHEL 28 Feb @ 2:17am
So, I really don't like the idea of this mod depending on a really big other mod, because that means my game will have way too many things that I don't need or that are unbalanced for me. But it seems like there's a mod that includes just the stuff we both need. (now let's wait for that thing to animate)

This is actually really sick. Well thought of. This makes it easy to cut time on this without cheating.

NalMac 27 Feb @ 5:53am
on top of my earlier suggestion I also wanted to say it would be cool if you could use this to dump dirt and sand as well. Mainly because the way this mod places the tiles so that they don't look so blocky makes for a very nice terraining tool without using cheaty methods.

This is a great idea. Game now just needs a cement mixer lorry. :D
Texasrut  [author] 26 Feb @ 2:55pm
I'm so glad everyone is enjoying the mod! Its been really nice to hear all of the feedback!!!

@fin fin fin ravv ravv ravv I'm definitely interested in making sure the erosion on this mod's roads acts the same as the other gravel roads in the game. I'll do some testing myself and If I need to update some flags on the tile or just put wood under it It's not that big a deal.
Sniff 26 Feb @ 2:11pm
Filibusters used cars alpha version has been out for b42 for a while
wazzupbeijing 26 Feb @ 11:05am
ok i tested it out and found out that you dont really have to do anything else than putting a gravel floor on ground to stop erosion happening on those tiles.
and gravel floor also works as a normal road (not offroading)
My4eHuk 26 Feb @ 9:02am
Было бы прикольно, если бы существовал мод, который работал бы по такому же принципу, только вместо дорог машина оставляла на земле после себя след от шин, который потом бы смывался дождями или зарастал травой через время.
wazzupbeijing 26 Feb @ 8:59am
I have a few questions
but firstly i really wanted this to become a thing in pz and ty for doing it!

now, as you might know there are some requirements for roads to stay safe from "erosion" system of pz and if im not wrong one of them was: tiles required to have atleast a few tiles of something else than dirt tile to make it unaffected by erosion system "aka trees saplings spawning on ur roads to absurdly kill you system".
so does your mod take this into account, or is it only laying one tile of gravel to each tile?
NalMac 26 Feb @ 8:49am
tbh would be nice if any vehicle with a bed could use this function. At least a sandbox option for that.
N0wh3re 25 Feb @ 3:45pm
take my love
tilarium 25 Feb @ 7:29am
I also agree. If possible, when the time comes, make it so that the dumptruck and obviously hold more sacks of gravel and only do a 1 tile wide road instead of a 2. This way it makes the dumptruck more ideal to use, if you can find one.
Rachel L 25 Feb @ 7:23am
I agree with Nepenthe
