getting the interior keys is annoying, you have to try and kill zombies in or around the desired location
Hairac  [author] 15 Jul @ 5:51am
WARNING: This is not the old mod that has always been available for B41, it's a new one designed for 42, that also works in 41.
Please check carefully before leaving a comment. This one is currently working.

I'm on build 42.10 and it works if anyone is wondering
Banana Phone 2 Jul @ 6:33pm
@The Canadian It works for me. Just tested it. Maybe you have a conflict? Or perhaps you just didnt have the key in your inventory to the location you were trying to lock the interior doors or windows in? I noticed recently the game allows you to lock and unlock the exterior doors to a house without the key from the inside. As you would in real life. Perhaps you thought you had the key because you were able to lock and unlock the front doors but not the interior because of this function? But maybe you didn't actually have the key? Whatever it is, I hope you figure out because this mod rocks.

God bless. Been wishing I had something like this. Should be in the base game.

Like everyone else said, need this for the goobers trying to get into my domicile.

im addicted to this mod, just played a week one playthrough and it helped so much having an extra layer for bandits to destroy, constantly locking doors behind me incase theyre one door away from loot by the time im back at base or just being able to bunker myself down without having to use furniture

Can you make it so that the doors would have a chance to be locked? Like houses in vanilla.

Also you have "in addiction" in your description and I suppose it's supposed to be "in addition"

this block the path of bandits npc?
thanos73 29 Mar @ 9:15am
Being able to lock outdoor gates would be epic if it is possible
I-Hate-It-Here 28 Mar @ 4:18pm
Could you make it possible to padlock garage doors and the like? Ignore me if this functionality is already in the mod, I just downloaded it and saw the lists and saw it was missing, anywho, appreciate the mod mate!
Bez 12 Mar @ 5:27am
Need this specifically for the geeks who keep trying to get into my shack.
Hairac  [author] 10 Mar @ 8:37am
@Racoon yes no problem. If you remove it mid save though the interior doors that you have already locked do not loose the ability of being locked.
Racoon 10 Mar @ 8:34am
can I add it on the mid save
Hairac  [author] 9 Mar @ 6:33am
@pizzaslut no, it's not something i'm interested to implement.
pizzaslut 8 Mar @ 9:44pm
If i start a new save will some interior doors spawn locked?
Hairac  [author] 8 Mar @ 10:10am
@Hidalgo unfortunately at the moment they seems to ingore any security system. This mod uses vanilla locks so if it doesn't work in vanilla it won't work with that either. I hope that the devs of week one will make the NPCs aware of locks in the near future.
Hidalgo 7 Mar @ 11:55pm
Does this affect to Bandits mod npcs? they are tecnically zombies and its so annoying see how they cacually walk in my place and start looting like nothing.
Construct 6 Mar @ 10:06am
this is an amazing mod. I use this for my super-sprinter runs, thanks man.
SkullEmoji 6 Mar @ 6:29am
Thanks. Now I can sleep easy knowing zombies won't break in and eat me in my sleep
Goatroach 5 Mar @ 11:24am
Been playing Week One, and was just thinking how much I'd like to lock my store rooms to further slow bandits/looters. Glad I'm not the only one who wanted this ability!
Hairac  [author] 5 Mar @ 1:04am
Thank you @BoogieMan, he is correct it does not take any function away from vanilla. @Snipa B42 does not have multiplayer yet, I will test on a B41 server as soon as possible and if works I'll add the tag for it.
Snipa 4 Mar @ 11:22pm
Hi, its compatible with multiplayer now?
BoogieMan 4 Mar @ 7:15pm
You can lock/unlock on both sides, you must have the key to the door in your inventory. This mod just means you can lock interior doors as well, instead of only exterior doors.
z0ntir 4 Mar @ 7:02pm
Does this mean that if I leave my house I can't lock the door from the outside? It can only be locked from the inside? Also, if it can be locked from the outside, do I have to have the key to the building? What if I don't have the key? I have a lot of questions really.
4 Mar @ 10:26am
That's fair, thanks Hairac!
Hairac  [author] 4 Mar @ 5:54am
Unfortunately i didn't find a way to check if you're inside a ROOM, i can only check if you're inside an HOUSE so locking interior doors without a key is not possible at the moment. I am not gonna make it possible to lock interior doors from outside a room to avoid future problem in multiplayer.
BoogieMan 3 Mar @ 3:08pm
@jaquerossetto

You can lure zombies into a building and kill them, and they'll have a chance to spawn a key for the building in their inventory. It still works as far as I know.
3 Mar @ 2:32pm
American interior locks almost never require keys, we have little knobs to turn. I would really like a version of this mod that made it so exterior doors require keys, but most interior doors can just be locked by hand like in real life.
jaquerossetto 2 Mar @ 11:07am
Sooo if the building doesnt have a key, there is nothing I can do? I really wanted to lock doors from the inside, like the bedroom or bathroom and these usually have the key attached (at least where I live people never take these keys from the door)
Hairac  [author] 2 Mar @ 5:49am
@BoogieMan that's unfortunate, thank you for the confirmation though. We should ask to the modder of the NPCs to respect our boundaries xD
BoogieMan 1 Mar @ 6:12pm
NPCs can walk through locked doors without issue, I imagine locked doors only stop players and zombies that can open doors.
Alpha Gamer 1 Mar @ 4:54am
does this work with the week one bandits mod? reason i ask is all npcs just walk into your house when its locked and open all your windows and climb out
Hairac  [author] 1 Mar @ 1:32am
@DUBUMAN despite being the main reason for the mod I haven't had the chance of being raided and test it yet. BTW for the max chances I used vanilla proprieties for locked/unlocked so as long as the NPC actually check if a door/window is locked they should work with both players and NPC. (for example paramedics in week ONE mod doesn't seem to care for locks, they just bypass all)
DUBUMAN 28 Feb @ 6:49pm
Can't Bandits or Knox NPCs open doors?
Construct 28 Feb @ 2:52pm
and I mean, in terms of balance, people can still smash the window.
Construct 28 Feb @ 2:51pm
Nice.
Hairac  [author] 28 Feb @ 2:49pm
@construct yeah I thought about that but it felt too easy. I might do as a flag in sandbox options maybe!
Construct 28 Feb @ 2:40pm
Do you think you could make a option that prevent locked windows from being opened from the outside?
Construct 28 Feb @ 2:39pm
Amazing. Thank you.
