From the items you mentioned, half of those can already be made into spears; broom, hockey stick, gaff hook, mop and rake. In addition to those, you can make spears from saplings and twig brooms. And long sticks of course.

@Yeags do you think you could make brooms, hockey sticks, gaff hooks, large branches, large handles, leaf rakes, mops, pole cues, rakes, and wooden spades able to be made into spears?

Are you supposed to not be able to craft fire hardened spears after you get spears using planks and tree branches?
The option doesn't even show up anymore.
