Yes @Goldietooth I want to add specifics for police too it would have its own option. But I'm not exactly sure yet how all of this is going to work but I'm pretty sure I can figure it out.

are you also planning to add what i initially suggested to what you could add onto this mod overall or idk (i just think its a good idea to be able to tweak the % of police vehicles per jurisdiction) since your mod already allows like the % of how many cars are in a traffic jam, residential, commercial and emergency zones

but i think its necessary for this mods progression by adding all the possible cars to each zone instead of limited groups it would greatly increase customization for each zone... okay now into the coding rabbithole i go

I like the idea, i may be able to add all cars to each zone. then create settings to apply percentages to each type of car. The problem lies there with specifying vehicles instead of applying to the zone in general it would break compatibility with any mods that simply add cars to predefined zones at normal spawn rates. However; if the mods you're using, in their code, Boost up the spawn chance it could be bugging out by spawning way too many. could you share the mods you mentioned by name and ill look at how theyre adding their cars and maybe i can attempt a fix of some sort @wicked hatter. we shall see what happens

i would love to have better categorizes to choose from to better adjust the type of cars i see spawning. for example having the ability to choose to set normal everyday cars to 10% while i have something like sports cars at 60% so i see sportier types. I ask for this distinction because for whatever reason if i use your mod all it wants to do is spawn modded tow trucks and profession vans and ive played with the settings alot. if you split up the cars types into generic categories then we would be able to adjust what spawns way easier. I think this would solve alot of the repeat cars we see so much. but love the mod hope to be able to use it soon. :)

It’s important to keep in mind as well that different people/servers play at different time frames. I currently have a playthru about 1-2 weeks after the infection began and another play thru 6-7 months in with many burned cars, damaged and looted places… etc…

and depending on the type of jurisdiction say like louisville pd their % would be higher cause of their stations and general coverage basically saying more police vehicles in that specific area as to riverside which would have a reasonably lower % in police vehicles to smaller towns but not 0

like you could add a jurisdiction zone basing where it is say a rosewoodpolice zone where it scatters a % of how many vehicles there can be inside that said zone, though like 1 or 2, 3 sheriff vehicles would still be at station

would give the immersion that some deputies/officers/troopers were gearing up or just general office duties whilst the infection struck whilst most of them were oncall and dealing with everything else

I believe this is being caused by my aforementioned x12 multiplier they apply to businesses!
it is supposed to balance EMS in all Business parking lots! give me a couple hours and im going to push the update that should fix the lack of ems vehicles

like i have my chance of spawning emergency vehicles basically 90% and ive only seen one police vehicle (mpd) in some sleep-in motel and none at the police department so yea

Also, note for @everyone ~ I was looking through the map at vehicle zones defined by the game.
There are multiple instances where they have mis-marked locations.
For example; the the Muldraugh police is just normal parking stall zones,
and instead of junkyard zones in some places they might do traffic jam zones instead.
so keep that in mind and reference the Build42 online map that allows you to see all vehicle zones to reference what kind of vehicles you should be seeing where.

Since i'm not adding any new zones yet. I cant say to specifically spawn the regional police anywhere new only add the vehicles to the police zone and it would iterate all over the map when it probably shouldn't. (BUT i can try to learn how to alter the map and add new zones called like westpointpolice, rosewoodpolice, ect... and place them in unique and fun places in each town, that i would then add sandbox options to edit the same as the other zones, this could take a while though)

I could totally seperate out the "police" zone so it not grouped up with the others and able to be adjusted specifically, if that would help. @ Goldietooth

well i kinda meant like the vehicles that are provided by the game itself (carlightskst) ect ect like the actual script names

also could there be an option to have a % of how many police vehicles (district wise/regional) spawn parked locally and station wise? something to that effect?

Also, I noted there is MUCH less of the "special" business vehicles spawning. I noticed right away all the unique vans that seemed quite abundant when messing with the spawning before my last update. I know why! they multiply the business zone by almost 12 times normal value by duplicating the table, which makes sense. I'm going to add in all 12 business zones instead of the 1 and it SHOULD Drastically increase those vehicles showing up when increasing special spawn chances!

@Goldietooth Excellent question, as far as i can tell those spawns are handled by the professional vehicles file and is a regional spawn function rather than individual zones, i believe there is a vehicle swapping function that should take over and place the region specific vehicles when needed, i have not delved too deep into that yet.. but its on the list now. I will also run around in game to check various towns police and see whats up

does this mod support the new vanilla regional police? (muldraugh pd, westpoint pd, kst, sheriff (rosewood/valley and riverside), louisville lcpd/pd) vehicle spawns?

This is an amazing mod! I cannot play without out! I tweaked the setting and some of the vehicles in the world are really damaged while others are burned. It gives the entire world just a different vibe. Great job!

Going to try and teach myself how to create an option to toggle an entire section off. like a "use default" type button for people who only want to change certain zones.

Big Update! Split up the code so now it doesn't effect every zone the same. There may still need to be some work to balance everything out. If anyone notices anything specific that needs looking into please let me know. I updated the description to include the changes.

@Vengent make sure you also adjust the base games vehicle spawn chance to high as it will directly alter the percentage my mod will be able to apply.

*note* i dont know how to mod in v41 so until i learn backwards compatibility i probably wont be able to bring this to 41.

Seeing a lot less spawns since 42.6. My settings are Spawn Rate: 100 Special 9, burnt 6, normal 85. Empty parking lots =( Tried changing the load order. Should that matter for this mod?

I will be looking into a few reported issues and incompatibilities asap!

I know the code needs a bit of tweaking to allow per zone adjustments, which I can do.

i've just been extremely busy the past 30 days with a move and new position in another state.

I plan on expanding the code base to have sandbox alterations for each zone specifically.
As well as assigning the right kind of cars (I noticed trailers are in the file a bit weird as the developers already boosted trailer spawns in some way) and the way the current function alters the whole file the same, which may jack up the trailer spawns by accident.

Is there anything in this mod that might make a specific car spawn repeatedly? I've got all the k15, and autostar cars loaded, but i've got entire towns spawning with nothing but mercedes and I'm not sure why. I do see other cars in some locations, so the mods are working.

Fixed it! This mod is incompatible with "Crashed Cars" Mod. I uninstalled "Crashed Cars" to keep this mod.

I think we need a guide cause I have been playing with the setting for almost 1 hour and something in the vanilla "Vehicle" Sandbox options and this mods sandbox options are not getting along... I can't seem to figure out the parameters needed for 95% burnt cards, medium car spawns, and clunky rusty buckets... Although I set the settings to that...

I also had this issue with large parking lots, in my case, the West Point super market lot had 48 High Guys Official weed dispensory vans out of 58 vehicles (6 of a different news van, 1 different van, 1 range rover, 2 burned out cars). So it looks like an update is needed.

The mod is great, but it has some issues with mods. After testing, I noticed that in large parking areas like supermarkets, etc., the mod will only spawn the first car you have in your mod list. I changed the mod's load order, but it didn't work.

@Hasa I tried it with the No Vanilla Vehicles mod and it worked although you have to find the optimal configuration, since in my case I have mods like the W900 and similar and in my game I started in March Ridge and the parking lot of the apartments in the South East area were full of trailers, and vehicles from the Bulldozer Mod😅😅

How does this mod's Spawn Rate interact with the game setting Vehicle Spawn Rate ? Same with Base Quality versus the game's General Condition ? Then when it comes to Chance to Spawn Special and Normal are there other vehicles that don't fall into those two categories? Like sedans, coupes, just typical cars. So, is what it's doing is when there is a parking spot outside of a... police station, by setting Chance to Spawn Special to 100%, if that spot is rolled to spawn a car it will always spawn a "special" police vehicle?

would it be possible to add a option to have vehicles re spawn after a time? i saw someone made it for their server but its way outdated. wasn't sure if its possible with just the base zomboid game. since i know it has loot respawn id like to have the option to do low vehicle spawns but make it possible to have them respawn randomly in the world after a time.
