Unfortunately most blood mods make it really difficult to actually detect the blood, so I just picked the most popular gib mod I could find and made it so if you step near a gib it covers your sole in blood.

just fyi, this mod is incompatible with xdReanims base mods which modify footsteps, I was using "enhanced sandbox animations" in particular. Which modifies footsteps by adding extra animations.

Right now there are 2 ways: Stepping on a material with the surface property "bloodyflesh" or having a gore mod installed.

If you find a way to reliably detect footsteps on NPCs or nextbots, I'll use that, then you won't have to copy any of my code.

In the meantime, feel free to use my code to spawn footprints (but require this addon). I see that your nextbot is a dinosaur, so good luck making the print textures.

a theoretical resolution to the detection issue is allowing support for playermodel creators to integrate a simple variable that lets them set the model's footprint

There's no way to detect the shape of the model's foot. A console command is the only reasonable choice.

wish instead setting the footprints manually mod would automaticlly detect the footprints based on what kind playermodel you do would have set for yourself dont know something like that do actually possible to do for a garry's mod addon

When NPCs and players walk on the snow, there will be (presumably) the footprints that come with the game itself. Is there any way to get rid of them?

You need to step on something with the material "bloodyflesh". I have no idea if there's anything that actually uses it, so i'm looking for the most popular blood mods to see if I can add compatibility. In the meantime, that's a thing.
