Yeah when it isn’t like that. But they have done the vice versa of where they made a gun fire slower than it actually does. Example I know is the custom aircraft machine gun with parts from other guns made called the Stinger by soldiers. In COD WW2, they drastically lowered its rate of fire from the blistering rate of fire similar to a MG42 to a chugging rate of fire in game. Some heroics done with it in Japan despite the guy shot multiple times, guy must have been an unit.

I remember this submachine gun though it is not widely known due to being outshined by the M1 Thompson and the M3 grease gun. But some did see service, one such example is in the pacific campaign. Unfortunately in that account by a veteran in Guadalcanal when attacked by Japanese soldiers after making it ashore with other soldiers at night, he was able to fatally shoot one dead but it jammed after a second mortal wound shot to the next enemy. Forcing him to have to use it like a club. It has appeared in COD vanguard but I never played it due to the butchery done to those legacy weapons of WW2 as “customization”. But I know it was one in the game.

There is an M1 SMG (Thompson) and an M3 SMG (Grease gun). This implies the existence of an M2 SMG, doesn't it? Which is this crazy thing, which was formally adopted but never put into mass production, since it was immediately replaced by a much cheaper M3.
