No problem, mate.
Enjoy the campaign!
Howdy. If you're speaking about that one extra SP mission which was part of Vietcong: Red Dawn, it's already part of my Vietcong COOP campaign, which can be found here:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3317055096
I even restored its briefing.
The mission is not 1:1, of course, considering I had to make it for 6 players, but it's very similar.
Hello. Regarding this campaign (Fist Alpha), all of them.
If you're looking for missions which do not require the Nickel Steel mod, try the previous campaign "Vietcong", which can be found here:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3317055096
All HoldAction actions were reworked due to 3den update.
The current version is 1.2, please, make sure that the Steam Workshop properly updated the mod.
Thank you, friend.
Hello again.
Yes, the pilot must survive, or the mission will fail. You are there to rescue him, after all.
This was also the case in the original VC: Fist Alpha game.
In order to finish the mission successfully , Douglas (!), his teammates who are present and the pilot must be all in the helicopter. If the pilot gets killed, the mission will fail.
Thank you for playing and making a video.
And to give you a direct answer:
After you reach the wreck, head south.
The pilot is about 1.2 km south in a large swamp. He's in the enemy camp.
I would highly recommend to get one more player - that should be enough for you to complete every mission in this campaign. Otherwise, play Mission 1, 2 and 5 as your pointman - you won't be able to finish them completely, since the extraction heli won't leave without Douglas, but you'll be able to experience everything else. Missions 3 and 4 can be handled by only Douglas, so they should be fine. As for the ending itself in Mission 5, I would probably do the radio/cannon part with Nhut, and then switch to Douglas for the final part (NVA base). Use my custom starting points for that.
I know it's not ideal and you would probably appreciate the SP support, but that's all I can do for you. Still, I hope you'll have fun! Feel free to ask more questions.
Howdy, thanks for your positive feedback. I really appreciate it!
My VC missions have a "pointman" feature, which means that sometimes (not always), only your pointman (Nguyen, Nhut) knows where the objective is. It is supposed to replicate their guiding role in the original game and motivate players to communicate.
In other words, Nguyen knows how to find the pilot through his waypoints, and is essential for the mission, same as Douglas. That is why characters with a (!) sign at the end of their name are required to be picked by the player. After all, this is supposed to be a cooperative campaign.
