The biggest problem is that the Sniper's highest LOD is too low to allow more LODs, but if that's how it is, would it be okay to just add hidden polygons to it that can later simply be deleted?

Hey, you really need to get this gold starred. From past experience Valve prefer you to have duplicate lods to make the count the same for every class, rather than submitting multiple zips. Valve haven't added a non gold star cosmetic item in a very long time.

There was no good way for me to keep the gold star for this item since the Import Tool doesn't allow items to have a different LOD count for different classes. Instead, I used the Import Tool multiple times to compile the item for various classes, then simply batched the folder structure and files into a single .zip file. As such, this item is probably packed as uniformly as a regular Gold Star item, it just doesn't have the actual Gold Star, in which case I don't think it matters much anyway.
