When you said those things, brother, it reminded me of a story.

I'm not gonna mod the source code yet, because the dev team keep upgrading the game often, and because it's not an easy job todo.

But .... As you pointed it out well,
Officers on board can already put this uniform in some cases,,,
so the simplest way would be to make a mode that modifies the source code, then this uniform will be available among the list of all others uniforms choices.

When captain die and officer is promoted,
But it's the same uniform used by the game for senior officers in ports.
So, if we change this uniform, the change will apply to all those characters.

Oh, I was obsessively researching this topic and even tried to create a micro mod but couldn’t succeed. Finding someone who actually encountered this makes me really happy. I was also looking for a mod for the special uniform but couldn’t find it.

To get that special uniform, our U-boat captain needs to die, and if we promote one of our officers to captain, they wear that special uniform. You can test and try it yourself.

I’d really like to talk about this topic. I found the files in a few games and I’m willing to help in any way because I’ve done extensive research.

check my last screenshot in my profile, there is this uniform and other Kriegsmarine officers from the high command have it.

i never noticed any "special uniform" on my captain when entering port with successfull mission. But i'm gonna check.

Hello.
I've seen many mods during my career as a submariner, but I've never seen the ability to wear the uniform of high command officers. In port, these officers wear a special uniform and it's nowhere to be found. Technically, the game later provides access to a staff officer who wears this uniform initially, but his clothing slots are empty in the editor.

I have a question: is it even possible to implement this or did the game developers not provide for this possibility?

I searched for information on the Internet for a long time about this, but nothing was found even close.
Perhaps you could add this to the game, since in the game files this uniform is automatically equipped on your captain several times when entering a port and successfully completing a mission.

I'm not upset, but I no longer let random people spread false claims about my mods.
Most of the time, they don't even bother to read how the mod works, and they don’t even explain what exactly is going wrong for them... is the computer freezing? Is the game crashing? Are textures missing? No, they just drop a vague complaint as if I had scammed them.

And for the genuinely nice people having issues ?
I’m sorry, but I can’t test my mod on every computer in the world. But right now, the mod has around 8,000 users, and the fact that I only receive rare complaints suggests that the problem is most likely on their side.

Mod author getting upset over comments on the intternet = grow up and grow a pair. Separate problem and nothing to do with the mod as it stands on its own mountain of merits.

Even after deleting all the .dxt files, I'm still having the old uniforms pop in when moving away.

Mod works very well for me and I like the new textures. Thank You for Your work.

By the way: I don't create mods for money. That's why other modders get my addons for free. But for everyone else, I request "at least" a "beer" payment. This effort makes me see you as a 'bro' – and makes me much more open to suggestions/complaints and helps if needed.
Otherwise, it upsets me when people casually and unfairly trash-talk my mod after I've spent countless hours editing 98 textures and even more time solving technical issues.
(Also, maybe we have here the reason why many modders have stopped updating their mods...
because without real support, you just give up.)

Listen Gordon, obviously you have to activate the mod in the launcher after subscribing, just as you have to do with every mod for this game. Telling you this is not the job of a mod author. No mod author will write this in their description, since a modicum of trust is put into the users ability to think by themselves on the most basic level.
Do yourself, the community, and especially the hard working mod authors a favor and stay off the workshop if you have no respect for the work people put into modding.

Don't worry, you're not the only one - many before you did the same and many after you will do the same. How can I say that with no doubts? How do I know that?
