@Staalby I haven't played From the Depths in quite a while, but I am open to the idea of doing a rebuild someday if I have the time to bring myself back up to speed with the game. Unfortunately, having gone off to college, I don't have as much spare time as I did in high school (when this build was produced.)

@sawyer.mccammon Sorry, the controls on it are a serious pain in the ass. You might have to use the flight control computer on the bridge to remap some keys or what not, but the space mechanics are so clunky right now it's basically good for one thing: shooting a ton of lasers and missiles at once for no real reason.

@Patrick Not-Star Thanks! I'm sorry it makes your computer lag, but I'm glad you like it none the less. I'm working on a lower block count one but it's very difficult to preserve the deatils at smaller scale.

as for space AI... i havent gotten around to it, but in large quanteties AI manuvering blocks (aerilons, and tialplanes) work in space toa degree, and if you could get an areal AI to not perform attack runs EVER and use secondary AI mainframes that cannot manuver but just controll guns then you might be able to set one up?

just incase anyone else wants to experemnt with kinetic damage weapons... just spam AP blocks untill the stats you view with caps when the bullet is int he air say 10 (cus the stats on the interface screens and fireing peice lie) and while the max gauge is 20, you can make the bullet ehavier and faster by adding over 20, and more abrrels increase speed aswell.... so you see wher ei get railguns in mind, im just to busy replaying ym childhood after it went on sale for 3 bucks the other day (SW battlefront)

@Scorpionkiller19 Yes. Most of the UNSC fleet still relied upon conventional ballistic and railgun type weapons, including the Paris. However, kinetic-based damage in From the Depths space area sim is less than useful at this point, so the lazers simply bolster the firepower of the ship. The ARCHER missiles are true to the Halo series, though.

@Leyline Unfortunately, From the Depths has yet to include anything reminiscent of an effective space AI, so it's mostly just a cool looking piece of work for now.

yup... but cannons are ahrd ot make 'effective' when your thinking of things so costly lazers beocme an option. although what ive beene xperementing with is trying to make a 'railgun' that will relie completly on kinetic damage and be as efective as some powerfull lasers.... like i said, 'experementing'

Well.. sitting in orbit and shooting defenseless targets is not really epic in my book. + due to the ridiculous size and block count, this ship is somewhat impractical.

Any chance we get a lower block count variant, that perhaps also is not breaking the bank?

well it looks really cool. using it combat makes the game feel that much more epic
