i think the lower size textures are fixing the textures because when this first released things like the revolver and pistol were bright now they fit the texture of the hev hands which makes it look much nicer then what it did before

So that means the map doesn't have any envmaps, and that's what's causing the issue you're having

r_showenvmaps 1 gives me black textures to all npcs and props

I dunno, man, try mat_phong 1 as well. If that does nothing, use r_showenvmaps 1 to see if it's just the map not having any envmaps

okay so I use launch options of "+mat_specular 1" but unfortunately it's still the same problem I swear I have turn mat_specular to 1 but do you think it's the materials problem for the weapons?

Hey @thatmoodyguy, hope you're doing well. I've noticed a bug with the AR2's. For some reason their world models glitch all over the map when you look at them in a certain direction when you kill Combine Soldiers using them. I'm not using any other mods either.

Alright, I reverted the materials item back to its original state, if someone could test the AR2 Screen Flash bug and see if it's there, I'd appreciate it. And if it's not, then I know someone that'll be eating a hat or two -_-

If you run mat_reloadallmaterials it will clear that crap off the screen. I am gonna test if loading a map fresh from the chapter selector does something. I have had it happen before where only a fresh map load will fix certain things with mods.

Actually I should have read fedora's post before posting my comment. It is doing exactly that with the world model when you kill an npc while they are firing it. I used to not get this issue so much because there were less combine shooting it earlier in the game.

Something strange is happening. When I kill an npc shooting an ar2 pulse rifle at me, it bugs out and puts the texture all over the screen.

So, I did encounter this in the second map of Follow Freeman, and the first thing I did was disable my workshop mods and custom folder to make sure it wasn't a vanilla thing, It did not reappear. Then I enabled the custom folder but only with my RTX models and materials port. It did not appear. I re-enabled all my workshop mods. It did not appear. I moved all my major mods back into my custom folder. It did not appear

Man dont know why, but i prefer rtx hands rather than fewez hands. I know fewez hands was accurate to the original half life but rtx had much cooler look with deep orange color rather than bright orange
