Hey Ninja I see someone asked about permission for your models, I understand you don't let people use them. I'm a bit of a noob to 3d modelling and modding but I really liked your Auto cannon and Scatter cannon, is it ok with you if I only use these as inspiration for design? I'm only using your models for reference and mine will probably look a bit similar since they fit my build designs quite well. They probably won't be done for quite some time but I'd like to credit you for them when they're ready, in a way I would like them to be my take of the weapon types :) I really like the damage, shooting, and sound effect for the Auto cannon, I would like to make mine very similar to yours in those regards.

@NinjaPirate, I understand. While I have access to Autodesk Inventor through work, The amount of time I generally have available to model, or free time to learn blender at home is minimal so I had been hoping. As for the AC I must have mixed up the ammo with a diff AC on my weapon test world.

Hi Rysten. Thanks for getting in touch. I do not permit the use of my models for any other projects, public or private, as I've stated in response to previous requests. This is largely due to my desire to see others produce work to their own specifications and see their own designs come to fruition.

I appreciate that your instinct is to ask permission, rather than to simply take and use.

As an aside, there is no mention of 25mm here. It's a 3.7cm gun (37mm) and the model was precisely measured to reflect that in-game.

@NinjaPirate, still works in latest patch, audio for small grid AC needs fixing, doesn't seem to really fade with distance and is loud enough to drown out all other gunfire :P Large AC still works, model doesn't look like preview picture though, barrels show up really rather small and close together when I tried it. The small grid AC seems absurdly large compared to the battlecannon though for a 25mm :D (but I love that look, which is why I want to use them for a 40 or 50mm AC).

Woops, thought this was my battlecannon page for some reason. Well, similar thought process applies, just to a lesser extent. The damage is concentrated so the risk/reward balance shifts a bit per-shot.

That doesn't sound too strange to me - the gatling gun has far more potential to deal dispersed or ineffective shots, whereas a hit with the 88 concentrates it. It's not meant to be better or worse necessarily, just an alternative with a different approach to damage.

If you can guarantee that sort of sustained accuracy with gatlings, by all means use those over this!

Tested as of comment date: fully functional but damage values are way off, the small grid version taking over 30 seconds to destroy one large grid heavy armor block. The vanilla gatling gun takes only 22 seconds.

I dunno man, I made this thing so many years ago. The people modding the game today have very little interest in helping me work out the quirks and issue that are coming up.
