I believe we've found a fix for this and I will post it asap. It likely won't fix existing characters with this problem though.

My apologies for this. We're looking at a work around for this issue, but when mods alter anything about the starter/opening quests, it throws a wrench into plans when attempting to do something different for races because it creates incompatibilities. This may be circumvented for now via admin commands to complete the initial vanilla "bootship" quest.

We're looking into a means of checking the player's species and providing the proper follow up quest based on that, and hope to have an update to fix the problem asap.

also not getting the starter quest as a non-viera on a viera byos works perfectly fine as a viera though

The Viera merchant Nanzie appears in marketplaces in Viera villages and sells codexes with the recipes. Her stock rotates every twenty minutes though, so she doesn't sell everything at once.

@Crankenstein Are there any errors in your log? And do you have Frackin Universe, Viera of Ivalice, and this patch installed? If the issue persists, try unsubbing and resubbing. That may or may not fix the problem. Sorry you're having troubles!

Hello. I'm stuck when I make a new character in the Vierra BYOS. SAIL doesn't give me the quest to beam down to my starter planet.

I love these mods for the Viera. They are fantastic! I have been experimenting with the BYOS in the FU mod, atleast one of the blocks when removed from the ship turn into inset panels reverting to the standard style and color, when replaced they remain the normal type of block. Is there a way to get the Viera style of block with these blocks?

@freyjasvalkyrie13, I already did try adjusting the load order (including letting Steam decide the best order), but I still get the same problem.

I'll opt out of this mod for now, but I will watch it's growth with much interest.

I love that the different armor sets reflect how their respective jobs were in FFTA2, it's super cool to see that. Excited to see more Moogle & Bangaa support :3

Aha, there's a reason it's called Seonha!
Whatever the reason, it's a good enough reason for me to play this mod.
I think I'll stop expanding my ship for now and build a house on the planet...

On a side note, I did not know that "Seonha" is also a Korean name. That's very lovely! I actually prefer the Korean origin and meaning over the Gaelic, now that I've learned of this!

Ultimately, I was looking for a name that sounded very close to "Xena" and could be pronounced similarly. I hope she's well received as the first, named Viera character in the mod.

Thank you for your compliments! I could always make a larger airship template eventually!

As for Seonha's name, I utilized ancient Gaelic names for most Viera, and this one I wanted to mirror the pop culture character Xena: Warrior Princess. So her name is intended to be pronounced in a similar manner to "Xena." This is why her ship is named The Argo, after Xena's horse in the series.

I'm fine with any translation patches for the mod ^_^

But the quality of your ships is so good, that's why I was looking for bigger ships.
I don't want to ruin your ship with my poor design skills.
But I wanted it to be bigger, so I commented.
Do you think you can make this beautiful ship bigger?
Even if you can't, I appreciate you making this mod.

One more thing, why is the NPC called Seonha?
I'm Korean, so it's nice to have a familiar name.
If you get a chance, I'd love to make a Korean translation of your mod.
Although I don't really know how to do it lol

It seems like it could possibly be an issue with load order. I might recommend unsubbing and resubbing to see if that might rectify it. If it doesn't, you can adjust your mod workshop load order through the game's properties in your Steam Library. You can also opt for Steam to select the Best Load order. I'll do some more investigating on my end in the mean time, and let me know how you fare. So sorry this is happening.

There are a bunch of errors in item loading

A bunch like this:
[Error] Could not instantiate item '[name, 1, {}]'. (ItemException) No such item 'name'

A few like this:
[Error] Could not load image asset '/objects/moogle/ship/mooglebunk/mooglebunk1.png', using placeholder default.

I was trying to use the viera race and the matching BYOS option. I'll see if there are any errors in the log. As for mod conflicts... I guess the logs will tell. I have a bunch of mods.

Hmm strange. Out of curiosity, what race/ship combination were you going with? I'll try and replicate it on my end under the same circumstances.

Also, are you using any other mods that might conflict?

Probably worth noting that the vanilla ship works fine, but doesn't have the FU stuff in the ship locker.

I'm having an issue with the BYOS where it never generates, and I just fall to my death only to revive on the non-existent ship and do it all over again... I've played a bunch of other races and never encountered this. Any ideas what might be going on?

It's Moogle sized! It may be a little claustrophobia inducing for one of the larger species, but thankfully the ship can be rebuilt or expanded with upgrades! (A larger version of this particular ship isn't planned at the moment, but Amazon put a lot of work into ensuring the BYOS ships were fully customize-able!)
