actually, for your question, the real reason is that I forgot about this generator when I was designing (the core schematic I was referring to was for old version). It's fine to use differentials and it should work well, but the startup time will be a bit longer (though it's not a big deal).
Anyway, this core schematic for quick attacks works with any power generation as long as your attack speed is fast enough.
