Nuh uh. Ya gotta use a snail to break 'em in the base game. This mod lets you just use rocks.

thank you for Dealing With The Barnacle in a way that doesnt just remove them from the game entirely. I don't want them gone, I want to tear them asunder myself with doom music in the background.

Oh it is a random amount? Must've just had a very weird series of coincidences when I was testing it then! I threw a single rock at some barnacles several times, got a second rock and threw them rapidly one after the other and broke all of them in 2 hits so I assumed it was 2 within a short time frame!

Thank you! The amount of hits they take to break is tied to a randomly generated number between 1 and 10, wouldn't be too hard to change that so I'll see what i can do. As for the explosion noise, that is tied directly to the method that causes the shell to break, and thus, I am unable to change it without replacing the entire method.

Okay so I already beat the campaign but I went and downloaded this to try it out thinking I might use it in future playthroughs as it seemed like a good solution to barnacles being in the way, and it is! Oh joy!
BUT I have two minor requests:
As it is right now they break from two rapid stone throws, would it be possible to have it not be rapid stone throws and instead x (configurable) amount of throws in general as a remix option?
Also, the sound they make when they break being an explosion feels wrong to me, although to replacement sound effect from within the game sticks out to me at the moment and I do realise that they usually break from explosions though so maybe that's not something that could be changed in the first place.

the crabs are a key component in the ballpit of doom. So other than that room with all the poppers and the crabs, I would say they are pretty alright :)

got an exception and game freeze when I entered a room with barnacles - I have the exceptionlog saved if you want it. might not be an issue with your mod as I have a couple running, but DM me if you'd like the log to check it out anyway

Great mod. No idea why the shells aren't breakable overtime, they really should be. Or at least hitting them should guarantee them to move...
They don't even die when you blow up their shells with an explosive. It's so annoying.

Yeah, there is a big where if a barnacle loses its shell offscreen, they freeze the game. Neoncityrain made a fix for that so I recommend you download it! The bug will probably be fixed in the next game update.

Hey there, a friend and I started a Watcher co-op run today and just got to coral caves. It seems that sometimes when we hit barnacles with rocks with this mod enabled, the game freezes. We were hitting those guys pretty damn intensely in the room just outside the first den, and didn't get further than a minute into the cycle both times. Game froze both times when hitting barnacles with rocks specifically, not spears etc.

this should be basegame, these guys can be a really good food source but thasts only if you have explosives, most regions these guys show up in dont have scavs to steal explosivs from so this is very awesome sauce

you can just explode them tho........ but yeah it is more convinient to break them with rocks unless you're Artificer-
