@Nepenthe
Thank you for letting me know. I really hope that you will have the time to finish this project and work on updates. In B42 it was so amazing to have bases fit into small tiles using external storages.
Thank you for your work, and I hope you to enjoy your work on this project!
(While i dont have skills in lue, i do know other languages. Maybe we could figure something out together? If you wish i can send you my discord and talk there)

@Raycore The bag contents limit when on floor isn't using the lua "how much more can fit on this floor tile?" API call; the weight limits are enforced in lots of different places. If I get a chance I'll try to track down the code path for that to see if it can be bypassed in a reasonable way.

The workaround is to just throw everything on the floor like an untrained savage instead of organizing things into bags.

Hello. I am using this mod and it seems like When the weight units reach around 50, I cannot put any items on the tile. I am using external storage bins to store my items, and i cannot place them into the container. However if i pick it up, put the items in it, and try to put down the container, i can put down the container. I can pull items out, but not put new items in.

So TL;DR:
only works when putting 50+ weight container on the ground, and doesnt work when putting more items into the 50+ weighted cell.

Thanks for reading, contact me if you need any other info

Nepenthe Is it possible to have this in B41?
Nepenthe  [author] 29 Jun @ 2:47am
Commenting that the mod doesn't work for you without providing any details is useless.

You still can't put items in bags on tiles with over 50 capacity, pls fix

@LEON The method used to patch the game's code is something I though was impossible until another modder called Albion explained how to patch the LUA -> Java interface.
LGON 27 May @ 6:14am
Muchas gracias a Albion por enseñarme el loco truco de lua utilizado para hacer que este mod funcione. wtf?
space is cool 15 May @ 11:20pm
clean ui doesn't break this, that's an issue that's been present since B41
Br3nnabee 15 May @ 11:04pm
Yep, clean UI also breaks this.
racherim 13 May @ 6:09am
encountering same problem with @space is cool, and i don't have inventory tetris mod btw, just couple UI mod such as Clean UI.
space is cool 25 Apr @ 8:00pm
dropping works but placing doesn't with filled up containers with inventory tetris. not sure if its an inventory tetris issue
Nepenthe  [author] 25 Apr @ 5:17pm
@space is it only the "place" option that has issues? I.e.: you can still drop the item in the world, you just can't place in a specific location?
Nepenthe  [author] 25 Apr @ 5:16pm
@woot B42 only for now, but I'm going to try backporting it when I get a chance.
space is cool 25 Apr @ 5:22am
by placing items I meant containers that have alot of stuff in them. for some reason they still have an issue. removing the items from the container works though.
Woot 23 Apr @ 11:00pm
Works for build 41 as well?
Nepenthe  [author] 18 Apr @ 8:32pm
@d4n13lus for single player, you can just not put more than seems reasonable on one tile.

Adding a sandbox option for a specific capacity is a good idea, and I will do that in an update before multiplayer is out (so sometime in 2025 :-P )
d4n13lus 18 Apr @ 5:20pm
+1 the last comment, a version with 100 or 200 weight per tile will be more balanced, because its unreal to put 50ton in a single tile ;)

Anyway, the mods its awesome!
17 Apr @ 3:43am
I understand not allowing you to create a neutron star in a single block, but it seems silly vanilla only allows 50 encumbrance units on each, maybe 100 to 200 is more balanced?
Nutjob 17 Apr @ 3:39am
@Nepenthe,

On my existing save, I tried a new container (crate and just built for this test) on a different tile, filled the crate and started placing heavy objects on top of the crate, got the total weight of the tile to 326.5.

I also tried a new run, with only this mod active and achieved a similar result as above.

So it appears to be adding this mod to an existing save will work, but not for containers that have already been interacted with?

Hopefully this helps.
Nutjob 16 Apr @ 4:31am
@Nepenthe, It was on the same tile. I will try later with a different tile to try and recreate the result.

Also, I do have a custom weight mod enabled. If the issue is the same for the different tile, I will try a new save without the custom weight mod enabled and let you know the result. Thanks for that guidance.
Nepenthe  [author] 15 Apr @ 8:25am
@alcador thanks for letting me know, its better to know that I don't have an obscure bug than to have no follow-up
Alcador 15 Apr @ 7:57am
@Nepenthe Update: Im a total dumbass and for some reason just your mod was not enabled in my save file, works now as intended! V42
Nepenthe  [author] 14 Apr @ 6:41pm
@nutjob/Alcador is that just for specific tiles that were previously holding items, or all tiles? And do you have any other mods installed that do general overrides on bag capacity/bypass container size/etc?
Alcador 14 Apr @ 10:55am
Same as Nutjob, added the mod, enabled it, but it doesnt seem to let me put more items in a square.
Nutjob 9 Apr @ 4:19am
@Nepenthe, I added this mod to an existing save, still unable to add more weight to that tile.

I even removed the contents of the containers and placed those containers on a different tile, and then placed them back to the original tile, and still encountered the weight restriction.

Any suggestions?
Landstorm 9 Apr @ 4:14am
there are pallets in the game that you can pick up.
you can't use them as containers for items, but after watching a few episodes of a DIY carpentry show there's nothing stopping you from building a world trade center out of wood. what don't you understand?
jlcarneiro 7 Apr @ 8:26am
@Nepenthe Thanks! I suspected that! I wanted to let you (less workload) and others crazy ones like me know... ;-)
Nepenthe  [author] 7 Apr @ 6:32am
It should backport to 41 without issues, I've just not spent the time to set it up and test. No Mod Options. no accessing new features added in B42, no recipes or items, and working on a function that probably didn't change.
jlcarneiro 7 Apr @ 5:28am
@Nepenthe Thanks for this great mod!

I tried to "adequate" this mod to B41 (following this guide https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3417109279) and it SEEMS to work pretty fine, with no incompatibilities so far...
Nepenthe  [author] 6 Apr @ 6:32pm
@squid It should work, because this mod is overriding the "how much stuff is already on the floor?" API call and not the inventory UI itself.
doo berry 6 Apr @ 5:11pm
Does anyone know how this works with inventory tetris?

This mod is B42 only.

Is this compatible with B41? I presume not since it's not included in the tags

Will be looking forward to using this when I switch to B42. Great work!
Wrath of the North 4 Apr @ 6:09am
@mister.monroeville It was often argued by some "purists" that higher floor capacity would encourage people to forgo storage, crafting containers, looting and using lockers and wardrobes... I simply don't believe that's the case. Psychologically, we're inclined to sorting and organizing. This mod was direly needed.
