That's better.
Did you use WorldMachine for rendering or some GIS?
Satellite map - toned down
Satellite map - landscape only
Satellite map + roads
I will surely make versions for both vanilla and modded zones.
I'm aware that even with that, the zone borders aren't smooth, but "jagged" when passing over them, but since it's one of the most popular ones, it might be a good reference.
Of course, I would like to add zone borders, but ones that are super precise, pixel-perfect. Unfortunately, I’ve discovered that the game processes areasmap.png with some kind of mistake. Right now I’m investigating this behavior, and I’ll upload an updated version of the map as soon as I either solve the mystery or give up trying.
The problem is — the mistake is sometimes so big that, for example, while standing right in the middle of Iron Trail, the game says you’re in Purple Sands.
I’ve gone deep to render this map properly, and now I must go even deeper to find out how the game really calculates its zone borders.
Thanks for your patience!
Sorry for the misleading description earlier — “use at your own risk” was just a joke referring to the lack of zone borders and city locations on this map.
I’ve updated the description to make that clearer — there are no issues with using the mod.
