This is a pretty cool War Paint. My main concern is what does it look like with wear?
Something like this SCREAMS custom wear, but I'm assuming it's not here since there's no screenshots.
Would appreciate seeing what it looks like in all wears before fully making a judgement, but this is cool concept and a solid execution overall regardless.

my man, just wanted to throw the pattern suggestion out there

it is your concept to perfect, and after all, to me, making my portfolio be full of work that I feel like speaks on my behalf, is a more important factor than creating something souly to try to have Valve add it into the game and make money off of it.

Of course, would be neat, and none of would obviously turn down the idea

But I respect your choice to stick by design, and hope you may find a potential middle ground for both moving forward

Much love

this is a really weird idea but it's well executed. I like it :)

this is a very well-thought comment, and i agree that it doesn't blend in enough in terms of thematics, but during the design process I tried a few approaches to making the oil transition into the water a bit better, though when I did it kind of made the design, visually, a lot worse since much of the contrast was dulled and the shape became a bit less striking

Because of this, I opted for aesthetic over thematic and chose the edges, which I feel is to the benefit of the paint but I respect disagreements.

I kinda feel like the oil doesn't really look liquidy enough for me to say that the primary texture does a good job at selling that oil spill feel yk?

I think there are far too many sharp edges which hurt the feeling even further, especially when the primary texture is suppose to be oil over an ocean surface

Id say, genuinely, take a flat surface that won't absorb the oil, pour some oil randomly across it, and see how the general shapes pan out

That way the feel can retain an even balance of everything
