maybe I’m more jaded than you since guras never been vocal about any of the issues in membership or on stream so as surprising as it is, my care dipped when she didn’t communicate the first times about the long hiatuses. Yeah I wanna agree with you but this is really not an argument about what the consumers want, and really what the girls want. Gura had a near 5 year career and some people want their oshis to stream forever and this is simply an absurd way of thinking. You can’t argue you love your oshi if you won’t let them make their own choices and ultimately she chose to leave hololive because she doesn’t want to do the idol things and probably fly to Japan every month. Ultimately Myth and Council were hired during Covid where there was no guarantee of having to perform in Japan, but now there is and unfortunately now the job has changed and the comfy era of streaming only is done and they have to do both.

and besides, some people DO watch because of they like the model + person combo, where if one of them's gone they don't enjoy it as much. can't just make up a rule where that niche doesn't exist at all.
