I had a lot of fun with this map and it's definitely one of the best I've played so far. One problem though. I couldn't pick up the mortars on the beach and the ai infantry kept crowding around them trying to pick them up even thought they couldn't.

Great design but way too many assets and lack of paths for AI - had loads of FPS lag playing with friends on high end PC's and could not complete the match due to this. Might want to tone it down a bit and open the map up a little bit. Keep it up!

Pt. 2/2

This time, I really, really enjoyed myself. I advanced to the cliff face ASAP and began crewing the flak guns, sniper towers and chucking HMGs into the bunkers. I set up a forward base and took control of the nearby mortars and AT guns. I should point out that by this point my Pop Cap was full so I activated a program I use to remove it. I built up my base and recruited some tanks and infantry. I moved everyone into position and waited.

Sadly, the AI again struggled to advance past the cliff so I led the "historically accurate" charge of German forces onto the beach. I experienced some lag (dropping from 60 FPS to 30 FPS~) but I know that's down to the sheer number of units in play. What followed was one of the best battles I've had in a very long time.

Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful map. I think it would be even better had I played against human players (as opposed to AI) however it remains the best map I've played so far.

Wow, a truly amazing map! The attention to detail is mind blowing. I loved the ship - very creative (the turret chimneys made me giggle though.) The starting ring of double barbed wire allowed for great early gameplay, though I wasn't able to use wire cutters on it (assuming that the barbed wire asset used is different to the one that can be created by infantry units?) The Germany territories were really well put together. Never seen a map use so many assets in this way! The day/night cycle was a nice touch too.

I attempted the map (3v3) as the Americans but found it difficult to move past the beach. This was more to do with pathfinding rather than the actual map (I'm assuming the left most cliff face isn't meant for vehicles?) After getting annoyed with the AI constantly blocking my advance by sitting in the chokepoints and then clustering up, I restarted as the Germans.

@DieSummi, If your system isnt the problem, are you sure about that? becuase it doesnt lag at all with my i7 cpu and GTX 1070. Nor have I had any other comment posted about lag since the map was posted here in 2014. Youre the only mention of lag that I can recall, maybe your network. This map is not big and it is Old and no one should be lagging. Unless maybe youre playing with 5 other people and you have your settings maxed or to high. Then it would be your system. Think about it.

@lance, you need to click Show on Workshop when ingame and the map you want to install, then click subscribe. Thats how i do it if it doesnt work

@Lance1949, 40,555 Subscribers thus far.. but you cant Subscribe?...I more then think its fair o say: Your problem is an isolated one. I dont know what you may or may not be doing wrong that you cant surcribe. I as this map builder, cannot fix problems that are NOT related to this Map. QUESTIOS like "How can I surcribe to a map OR I cant surcribe to your map" are best answered in the Map forums and wiki, etc.

@Alberto_Magnus, this map has NOT benn tested with "SpearHead MOD" However!, I just played the map 4 different times using that mod... 1 time as Allies and 3 as Axis. No problem or crash for me. YOur problem is isolated with your setup. The map does support connected territories, but not! when I usd the mod. Solution: Don't play with the Spearhead Mod.

I encountered two main problems, and support would be appreciated, thanks!

1) When playing Axis (Ost Division od Spearhead MOD), the game crashes after 10 minutes.

2) Before that, I can't build bunkers nor ammo/fuel crates as the map doesn't recognize connected territory.

I finished it neatly and without any problems on the American side, always with Spearhead MOD.

I actually figured out why the troops can't see the enemy. The sand bag wall is like three feet higher than what my troops are. And anyway to strangthen those bunkers because with one hit they are gone, either strengthen or replace. Thanks for the response.

Can you fix the bluffs? The sandbags on the cliff that give my troops cover are actually working for the enemy, my troops can't see the enemy until the run up and shoot them in the back. My troops should be able to see the enemy AI that is below them on the beach, but for some reason they can't until they are basically right next to them. The enemy cane see my troops perfectly but my troops are blind.

@ ChocoMcFudgeCake, That problem is not an issue with this map. It is a bug in the game using those kind of bunkers. Back in COH1 those bunkers worked great but I notice in many maps that use them from the new COH2 Worldbuilder that they have bugs in them. I learned that after I had already made this map. So its the bunkers issue not a bug in the map.

I'm having an issue where I think the concrete bunkers aren't providing heavy cover for troops. Not only do troops who garrison them seem to die extremely quickly but unlike when garrisoning other structures, there is no little "green shield" heavy cover indicator which usually pops up on the unit logo.

Yeah, did that. At least the world builder now shows that the terrain beneath the "bridges" is no longer impassable, so the problem is resolved. The map is still mostly incomplete, apart from the bare essentials. Had to get rid of the rocks, though, but now there is a set of tree visuals covering the obvious top parts of the bridges.

@ Commissar, bridges are set by default to cross over them, so you have to turn them into visual only and all units will be able to cross underneath instead of on top.

Huh... I think I will give it a shot by placing my current 'tunnels' (really a set of bridges 'ingeniously' hidden under a mountain of rocks) into visuals and see what the program says about that!

@ Commissar; depends on what you're trying to do. You know you have to set some objects as visual only!
