a tak btw nie przejmuj się potencjalnymi debilami co plują bo AI, zwykli ekoterroryści z basenem zamiast głowy
Thank you for the reply. Glad you understand why this is an issue. I hope you reach out to the community next time you decide to add voice acting to a mod of yours. There are tons of people ready to volunteer for all kinds of projects.
Hope to see more from you!
I understand Your concerns. Most, regarding the AI, really. In fact, such opinion is what was holding me from making the mod for so long. Nevertheless, I'm just a piss poor amateur modder, so I really had no other way to do such a mod without the AI models. Although I'll probably never make a similar mod ever again

very interesting idea
But I totally understand why it's not fully in Polish — it would make it hard for non-Polish players to enjoy this PRL-style Half-Life 2 experience.
And of course, I know it would be a massive amount of work to make a separate version just in Polish. Great mod anyway!
Proposition
Alyx - Anna walentynowicz (wałesa daughters is too young for 81)
Kleiner - Tadeusz Mazowiecki
Judith - Małgorzata Niezabitowska, has registered as SB secret agent at some point https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ma%C5%82gorzata_Niezabitowska
and maybe when rebels break propaganda monitor with breen, add this song https://youtu.be/uh5pZ9PlCwE?list=RDuh5pZ9PlCwE
Thank you! definitely there's some tiny gaps (for example the radio calling in the other stations, when they mention civil protection instead of milicja) but obviously happy to see the progress!
I definitely plan updating Eli's voicelines, to accomodate the Lech Wałęsa replacement. Also I recently replaced Grigori with Popiełuszko, so I'd like to add his voicelines as well (but that is dependent on whether I will be able to find good quality recordings of his voice)
According to my research, only twenty T-72s were in the inventory before 1982 (the year when serial production kicked off). The main tank during the Martial Law was still the T-55, confirmed by all the pictures from the era.
that is perfectly understandable. i hope that his early game speeches are the only thing i need to learn polish for. either way, i barely notice the AI voicelines, they feel oddly natural. almost too natural. either way great modpack, and worth installing to replay HL2, though i question why you used the T-55 for the Strider and not say, the T-72 which wouldve 100% been in mass production given its the 80s, (at least i think,)
I really, REALLY wanted to add subtitles. I even manually translated both of his speeches to English. However, based on my research, Workshop (and HL2 in general) does not have support for modded subtitle files. The only way to achieve custom subtitles would be to go into the directory and manually replace the subtitle files.
I may one day try to experiment with that, and maybe update the mod with a custom file and instructions how to replace it. But it also depends on my understanding of how the provided subtitle generator works, which is not really that easy to grasp, surprisingly.
I dont understand polish, at all because im an american. but i would love to see what they are saying when breen- sorry, the ESTEEMED GENERAL, speaks in polish. and to see all the sutble changes when im not paying too much attention to their diolouge (Vocally that is)
I guess so. Like I said before, I haven't really put that much time into it, the lore only serves as a fun little explaination of all the more "weird" replacements i.e. the Synths, scanners and the like.
US and NATO would almost certainly do the same with Black Mesa tech, although their designs wouldn't necessarily have to be similar to the Soviet ones.
That's weird. Maybe a mod conflict. Try to move this mod to the top of the modlist in the "Subscribed" tab in the in-game "Workshop" menu and check. You can also try verifying the game files integrity just in case
That is something I really wanted to do. But sadly, it seems the subtitles are not compatible with either Workshop or vpk modding attempts, being stored in completely different folder paths. It would necessitate completely overwriting them to work, which I'd rather not do.
Myślałem o tym, ale na chwilę obecną nie. Już zrobienie tego moda kosztowało mnie zbyt wiele czasu i nerwów, a przecież było to tylko edytowanie już istniejących dialogów. A tu trzeba by nagrywać wszystko od zera
