Extreme bike sports are a very niche thing. I've seen downhill mountain bikes, but never knew what they were called; they just aren't part of my world.

@Redacted, Keep in mind, I said it was something like $3K... In the early 1990s.
$3K in 1993 is the equivalent purchasing power of $6,639.43 today in 2025.
But yeah, I didn't even know "Downhill mountain bike" was a category, but the image results are indeed very, very similar to what I saw back then. There are some insane bikes out there, and that's what the ACRO was supposed to be in Pokemon.

@Sex Robot, Bro, I've seen a bike that looks just like that in the bike shop when I was a kid in the early 1990s. Was stupid expensive, like $3K or something. There are some really weird looking bikes out there. It's what the Pokemon bike (ACRO) was based off of.

Schwinn was what my bros. and I rode for years. Eventually, I switched to Trek.
Still riding my Trek Marlin 6 I got maybe 10 years ago or so.
My best friend (much shorter than me) still has my 21 speed Schwinn mountain bike from the '90s. I rode my first bike in 1989. I remember 1993 quite well.
