Summer has started, bro, and there's not much time for modding. I'll be working on stuff little by little, but anything that requires thinking and experimenting will have to wait until fall or winter)

...unless you can make them a newly animate being, but that sounds... actually really cool. too big to move, but if these walls could talk...

...what if instead of "chat", you were given the option to "examine"? you're not _literally_ talking to them, we'd guess...

It seems like it should work; I think I tested it. But it's always better to install new mods right after your character ascends to the heavens to meet the sultans.

is it okay to add this mid save?

oooo, thanks dev!!

Looks like this mod can be considered finished. A lot of work has been done. My small team of pixel artists and I are exhausted and need a break from drawing :) But we’ve got another pack of animated monsters coming up, so stay tuned! Just let us have some tea first ;)

This is amazing.
Now to find something similar for the Nephilim...

- All sprites have been redrawn, and the new ones are already in progress.
Thanx huh, glad u like it)

i love what youve done to the place, not enough mods that liven up the vanilla experience. kudos

I'm still balancing the frequency of statue generation; their variety will increase, which means I'll need to lower the frequency. Thanks for the feedback! I'm currently stuck in a very successful run where I just can't seem to die. Because of this, I'm still using the old version of the statues and can't properly test the new one. Next time, I'll lower the frequency (since the idea, as you noted, was for them to appear less often and be more surprising).

That's a good idea to add statues in the deep jungle, as the decorations there aren't very great either.

And yes, the dead kraken from Kenshi is already in the queue.

I appreciate the beauty and detail you've added to the monotonous jungles of Qud, Live and Drink Mosni!

I have absolutely no clue what the Qud vanilla code looks like, but as for spawn rates, I found often one or two statues in every 9-map tile of the world map, but in some tiles I would find a statue in 4-5 parasangs, which though not a bad thing was a bit much for me (they are good cover for things like goatfolk sowers though). Personally, (just me) I prefer the statues at a weight of 4 to make them a bit more surprising and noteworthy. That said, this has no negative effect on gameplay, the absolute most this can hurt the balance of the game is in giving you a dram of honey or wine occasionally, so having more common statues doesn't hurt the balance at all or make the game less fun to play at all. This mod exclusively just makes jungles feel better to explore since its not just TREES. I note I couldn't find any statues in the Deep Jungle, which though not an issue the description of the mod does lead to me to believe they would be deep. Again however not a serious issue.

IT HAS BEGUN. Don't get me wrong, I know this is not the most extravagant mod ever mechanically speaking, but with something like this mod out you are paving the way for something like an actual Salt Kraken corpse, and prospects like those excite me greatly. Furthermore, the statues themselves are really nicely made. You have done an excellent job of 'embiggening' normally incredibly small sprites, and they feel just as real as their small versions (though of course inanimate).

Glad you like the concept! Right now, I'm looking for pixel artists to create some decent sprites for this. Unfortunately, I don't have much time, so if anyone is interested, feel free to reach out. I'll give credit to you in the creation of the mod.

oh my god YES i loooove seeing the visually noticeable size differences, they make the world feel so much more voluminuous
