@Barbara Pierdzimąka the requirements for it to show are: you're an adult, you're an adventurer or have no titles at all, and your target is landed. If it's none of those, perhaps check your active playlist/mods again?

It doesn't work for me at all. Even if that is the only mod I run it doesn't work, what I mean is that I don't have the options to ''Seek Court Employment'' or ''Attend court'' - there are no such options in decisions. Do I have to meet any requirements for these decisions to be visible and available?

I appear to have found a bug. When dueling for you liege after a successful "Preform Champion Duties", the duel takes on the text of a lethal duel instead of a non-lethal. Fortunately the actual outcome does not result in the opponents death just a bit of immersion breaking.

How to reproduce:
Finish a Preform Champion Duties and read the text after a victory. (Or defeat, I always have a high prowess character)

I was about to come and comment "Seems redundant, this is already in the game". Eventually saw I had this already subscribed... So clearly your mod appears to be an essential part of the experience and not a tack-on :)

If you're a landless adventurer and don't have any of the court employment modifiers, and if the target is landed, the interaction should appear (even if tribal/nomadic). You should probably load Really Landless before this but I'm not sure what could be causing the interaction not to show at all for you. Is it showing for other rulers?

I'm having a weird issue where I'm not seeing the interaction to join any of my patron's courts. Is it not possible to join a tribal ruler's court, or could it be some sort of mod conflict? I have this mod and Really Landless at the bottom of my load order if that helps any.

@SquareBeard I will try it then with the really landless mod! Only issue I have is that the game keeps crashing 5 years into the game. I think it might be the administrative vassal reform mod that might be crashing it. I will make a new game with that turned off and see.

@Starcomet1 if you install Real Freedom - Really Landless you can play completely landless, and this mod adds options to join mercenaries/holy orders/courts (hopefully will have more interesting content in the future). This mod has a "disband camp" decision but you might run into game over screens without Really Landless.

I'll try adding the Request Court interaction for Noble Families then, perhaps adding extra stuff for that specifically in the future.

It would be great if you could add the advisory functionality to noble families! I would definitely use that.

I think the only way to get appointed court chaplain is if liege's religion is lay clergy. Otherwise, you would have to be totally landless with no government type and a courtier to get the position and that might break the game.

Noble families can relocate their estate to any county in the kingdom/empire. They can just relocate their estate to the county where they are employed.

@Starcomet1 if it's possible for the ruler to appoint vassals as court chaplain, then it should be possible for you to be appointed too (by requesting council position)?

Noble families can't become advisors atm. I can look into changing that. The only issue I can think of is deciding how you should travel to court from your estate.

Also, can noble families become advisors? They are also landless afterall.

It would be nice to become court chaplain in religions that allow temporal appointment and revocation.

@RadikalCat I think it's pretty clear from the description and title that it's for "landless" characters. If you're using another mod to play without titles then this one's content is probably still accessible, so Roads to Power might not even be needed.

why don't you mention that it requires DLC? wasted hours on figuring out how to use the mod.

Just checked and @Bobibob's translation seems to cover everything, so would recommend. With the new update everything not translated will appear in English.

There's a French translation listed at the bottom of the description that should cover most of the lines, though I'll try and have the remainder show up in English before the end of the day.

Hey @madamehina ! if your employer has 100 opinion of you then they won't ever ask you to return to court, so if you already have the absent modifier you could request leave and then send them a gift or something to boost their relation to 100. You could also just stay at the capital and let a follower lead your armies.

If you copy this into the console that should work too (change years to whatever you like if you want to be on leave for longer):

Hello, I was wondering , if i wanted to buy myself some t ime when I am flagged as absentee from my employer's court ( i am fighting for my liege in a Stand for Us contract , darn it ! ) what sort of edit should I do in my savegame ? And are there other 'legit' options to do it (besides asking for a leave, that only would give me a few more months and this is gonna be a LONG war, lol ) .

Thanks for the feedback @Not Howard! Court business currently takes up a personal scheme slot but I can look into making it a contract/political scheme and see if that works better. As for the profitability, whilst you don't get much passive income you can make quite a lot of gold by doing court business that you're skilled at. For example, as the high prowess personal champion of an emperor you should be able to do the Personal Champion scheme for 75 gold (plus some other rewards) quite quickly.

Heya, I really like this mod! I used it in my last run to curry favour with the Byzantine Emperor while building up my camp using Silk Road trade profits (RICE) as a prelude to invading Armenia - it was neat.

I do want to say - schemes blocking "Court Business" was kinda painful, because I was constantly seducing my wife for more kids. Also, I feel the money isn't that good? I was playing Hrolfr de Normandie, so Martial/Prowess, and Personal Champion only pays like 1.25 gold per month - I get 40 gold on average from the RICE Silk Road interaction. I'm intrigued with the prospect of "Overseeing Business" giving more gold, so I'm actually quite keen to learn about other opportunities in this mod. Cheers!

@j2808 as an adventurer/completely landless there should be a "Seek Court Employment" interaction.

@Barracuda Glad that you're enjoying it! Overseeing your business should scale the gold you get from your business modifier depending on your stewardship (I think it's 1% per point). I'll try bring back the court position tooltips next update, most likely the position has already been filled or you don't have 100 prestige.

I have noticed that while attempting to get a Court Position, sometimes a few of the options are grayed out and when hovering over them, they do not say why they are not available. Also the Overseeing Business effect has no modifiers. Otherwise this is my preferred way to start as a custom character!

It's odd because I incremented all the duel event ids everywhere by 1 (e.g. 0000 -> 0001) to align with my other event files, so I expected 0003 to be the event getting repeated this time. It still being 0002 is quite strange, kinda implies something's directly calling 0002 rather than through 0001. Unfortunately, I think the ai is just making stuff up.

I've tinkered with the 0001 scopes again so that might fix it. If you'd be willing to share the save game that would give me a lot more to go on.

The issue originates in events/lopc_scheme_events.txt, where the event chain uses configure_start_single_combat_effect with OUTPUT_EVENT = lopc_duel_event.0001. This means that whenever a scheme involving single combat (usually run by NPCs) completes, it triggers lopc_duel_event.0001. That event immediately calls lopc_duel_event.0002 (the visible popup) for the victor, but without checking if the victor is actually the player. As a result, the player keeps getting spammed with duel result windows every time an NPC wins a scheme duel. Commenting out lopc_duel_event.0002 stops the UI popup but not the background cause. The event should include a check like is_player = yes or a scope validity check to prevent it from showing the event to uninvolved player characters.

I uncommented 003 (Except for the comment you have there) and left 002 commented out, to see, and it hasn't triggered again.

Debug showed the event window that popped up before commenting it out as 002.

I looked into it with GenAI and this is the conclusion it came to:

Receiving the lopc duel event 0002 popup randomly. I see you commented out part of the event in the file, this doesn't appear to have fixed it (for me at least). I just commented out the entire event.

@Bruno have you joined anyone's court/group? The interaction gets disabled except for your employer if you have.
