I've introduced the changes for build 41 that should respect the required encoding for Cyrillic characters. I'll start checking out the metal rods as requested soon enough. Please update the mod and let me know how does it go with the new encoding for Build 41 (build 42 should be fine).
JD. Valentine  [author] 4 Aug @ 10:34am
I've spoken to much more experienced modders and they suggested Cp1251/Windows-1251 so imma use that one and see how it goes. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get around doing this.
YoptbI4 3 Aug @ 9:35pm
I think that if you change the encoding of the files in the path
\content\108600\3479505015\mods\DJG_BoundMaterials\media\lua\shared\Translate\RU (as I understand it, this is for B41)
to ANSI encoding, then the problems with incorrect display will go away. At least, this is what I did on the B41when I had display issues.
YoptbI4 3 Aug @ 9:21pm
I use Notepad++ myself for translation, but it sometimes saves the text file in a complex encoding, so it's likely that the game engine doesn't understand this encoding correctly. Therefore, I simply re-save the file using the default notepad with the required encoding.
YoptbI4 3 Aug @ 9:04pm
As an amateur mod translator, I can say that there were problems with the encoding. In B41, ANSI was needed to display Cyrillic correctly, while in B42, UTF-8 was required. I have no issues with the mod (B42/Win10), but I often have to change the encoding .txt in mods that already have RU support from the author.
JD. Valentine  [author] 2 Aug @ 8:16am
To the users that say Russian translation does not work. Can you tell me the Operating System you are using and the default encoding you have configured? Every documentation I read reports the UTF-8 as correct encoding, which is the one this mod currently uses. ASCII's limited character set is not a good choice for Cyrillic btw.

Also can you tell me which version of the game you are running 41/42?
JD. Valentine  [author] 1 Aug @ 5:14am
You can add the mod to an ongoing multiplayer server. It only adds new recipies and items without touching any existing logic.
Proximitive 31 Jul @ 5:45pm
can this be added on an ongoing mp server
JD. Valentine  [author] 30 Jul @ 9:24am
@Cosmo I simply reduced 40% of the original weight (rounding down). I might reblanace this in the future. @OmomiKigo @shxgun ett thank you for your input. I tested it in my machines and both work fine. I will test with ANSI encoding rather than UTF-8 and if that fixes the problem I will update the mod. I will also try to inlcude the bound metal bars as requested by another user before.

Thank you everyone for your input.
shxgun ett 29 Jul @ 7:19am
yeah my russian translation is broken too. playing on b41. also could've been nice to be able to bind metal rods too, they are a huge part of metalworking
OmomiKigo 28 Jul @ 9:35am
Good mod bro, thanks. But RU translate not working on B41. ANSI-encoding is required for *txt files. I translated some mods on RU, and each one needed an ANSI. I change encoding in your mod, and everything was fixed.
Cosmo 23 Jul @ 6:53am
@JD. Valentine + there is a weird math here. Bound 10 planks 15 kilo, bound 20 planks 25 kilo.
Was it intended that way?
Cosmo 23 Jul @ 6:46am
Hey @JD. Valentine can u implement 50% less metal/wood mods for your packing?
JD. Valentine  [author] 22 Jul @ 3:12am
Thank you for your feedback @YoptbI4. I hopefully I can find some time soon for the roped bars.
YoptbI4 21 Jul @ 6:55am
Dont find any problems with RU translation in-game in all my session. Its working good and with right encode. (Win10+B42)
Only things we really need - roped metal bars.
Thx for great mod. Again.
JD. Valentine  [author] 19 Jul @ 6:51am
Thanks @Cosmo ! I'm glad people are liking it.
Cosmo 18 Jul @ 3:35pm
Hey @JD. Valentine simple but truly useful mod, ty
JD. Valentine  [author] 18 Jul @ 4:18am
The files are indeed in UTF-8 handled with Kate and VSCodium. I've checked the encoding and in a Linux and Windows computer it works fine with the version currently available. That's why I asked. I can't seem to replicate the error you are having.
Mistuka 17 Jul @ 6:03pm
the problem is in UTF-8 and encoding, as far as I know you need to select Windows 1251 in notepad++, It's better to read guides about this
JD. Valentine  [author] 17 Jul @ 9:16am
Hello @Mistuka. I have tested the mod in 2 different devices and the russian translation works fine. Could it be an issue related to your device's or something?
Mistuka 16 Jul @ 10:13am
Russian language is broken:spiffo:
JD. Valentine  [author] 16 Jul @ 2:03am
Thanks, I'l look into it. And thank you for the kind words! :LIS_pixel_heart:
MightyBee 16 Jul @ 12:24am
@JD. Valentine. The item name is "Metal Bar" and I'm currently in the latest B41 version. From what I can see, it's the only item left in-game that can't be bundled (logically, atleast.). Thanks for the great mod by the way.
JD. Valentine  [author] 15 Jul @ 10:43pm
Could you let me know the exact in-game item name and build (some names change between builds)? It must have overloooked them while I was thinking about items to bundle. I can't work on that right now but will do in the future most certainly. Thanks for letting me know btw!
MightyBee 12 Jul @ 7:38pm
Thanks for the great mod. Will the metal bars be supported also? Currently, there's no way to bundle up metal bars.
JD. Valentine  [author] 8 Jul @ 10:09am
I've been wanting to make pallets for a while with certain visual mecanics but for now I fret I won't be working on any mods. I've recently started a new big project with more people and I'm quite busy at the moment with very little time. Sorry :(
opaxite 7 Jul @ 1:57pm
This is a really good mod, it fits perfectly in the game. Makes it much more managable while clearing out a bunch of trees and the models are great.

I remember there to be a similar mechanic in hydrocraft, where you could even combine multiple binds into a pallet. Is that something you would consider, too?
JD. Valentine  [author] 20 Jun @ 1:20am
Oh great. So that did fix it. My version was broken due to double-installation. Glad it's fixed then! :steamhappy:
Blast Fizzlebeef 20 Jun @ 1:18am
English 42.9, but I unsubbed and resubbed since the update a few minutes ago, and it's working for me now. Thanks much for the quick fix and the very useful mod.
JD. Valentine  [author] 20 Jun @ 1:13am
Hello Blast, thanks for commenting.
I've found one of the reasons behind the unavailable recipe but there seems to be another problem. I'm working on it.
Blast Fizzlebeef 19 Jun @ 11:08pm
Could be a conflict on my end, but I don't seem to have an option to unbind branches. No option in context menu, and crafting menu shows an option to bind branches, but not unbind. All other materials have the option to do both.
R o c k y J e t 19 Jun @ 9:09pm
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!
JD. Valentine  [author] 19 Jun @ 6:41am
Thanks a lot!
Radical Randy 18 Jun @ 5:31pm
This kinda rocks. Well made models too.
JD. Valentine  [author] 18 Jun @ 8:53am
Thaks for the feebback! :LIS_pixel_heart:

About the tooltip: I would rather keep the mod as simple as possible and avoid dependencies between mods. This way if one day I don't have enough free time to mantain the mod and things change the base will still be solid.
YoptbI4 18 Jun @ 4:10am
Ah, nevermind, it need other UI mod depency as i know.
YoptbI4 18 Jun @ 4:01am
I understand that is non-essential but anyway. What you think about "Packable" or "Bindable" feature in a tooltip like at this mod?

YoptbI4 18 Jun @ 3:36am
Checked RU Translation. It s work pretty well, and with right encoding, cuz with ANSI non-eng symbols displays as "?????". Great work, thanks again! Dont need translate it myself and share .txt with friends :)
JD. Valentine  [author] 18 Jun @ 12:35am
Hello Hazard.

Quoting from the original Inventory Tetris mod:

"Inventory Tetris automatically examines items from other mods and determines what size they should be."

So theoretically the mod should not have any issues with Inventory tetris.

I suppose the size is based on encumberance but I'm just guessing.
Hazard 17 Jun @ 10:37pm
Work with Inventory Tetris?
JD. Valentine  [author] 17 Jun @ 6:42pm
Hello Yoptbl4 !
I've been working on the translations to several languages lately and I just updated the mod. Currently available languages are: Russian, Spanish, Italian, German, French and Portuguese (and English of course).
Let me know what you do think or if you speak a non-available language.
YoptbI4 17 Jun @ 5:25am
Hello! Can u make translation suport? \42.0\media\lua\shared\Translate, EN folder as examples for translate. Great mod!
JD. Valentine  [author] 10 Jun @ 4:21pm
Thanks a lot! :LIS_pixel_heart: I tried to make them blend in with the original ones, even if I wasn't able to extract the original files. I'm glad you like them!
Skarvha 9 Jun @ 10:28am
Loving the 3D models - you did really well on this.
AngelHeart19 6 Jun @ 8:07pm
Nah you answered my question thanks JD
JD. Valentine  [author] 6 Jun @ 6:55pm
Hey AngelHeart19 !
You can actually already bind Wooden Logs together ingame, no mod needed! You need 2 ropes instead of one and they do indeed significantly reduce the incumberance once bound. You can bind 2, 3 or 4 logs together.
If i musunderstood what you mean and you are not referring to wooden chopped logs let me know! I'm sure we can improve the mod with the right input.
AngelHeart19 6 Jun @ 7:22am
will there be another mod for wood logs or will it be added cause I know I sure as hell would love a lower encumbrance from them
JD. Valentine  [author] 3 Jun @ 3:04pm
Thanks so much for catching that! :LIS_pixel_heart:

Turns out it was a copy-paste slip, not a bug in the actual logic. Fixed it now. I've retested the recipes, and everything should be working properly in both versions 41 and 42.

Really sorry if this messed with your playthrough, totally on me. :steamsad:
_syntaxera_ 3 Jun @ 9:24am
x5 as well
Iziu 2 Jun @ 6:37pm
